Selected to participate in the 2016 Underclass Area Code Games.
2/14/16 Liberty commit has physically dwarfed his peers since we first met him and is now a 6-foot-3, 220-pound switch-hitting manchild. Registered a 97-mph exit velocity from the left side and 100-mph from the right (the first time triple digits has been recorded at a PBR PA event). A natural righty, he attacks the baseball with legit bat speed and shows huge power potential. From the left side he bars his front arm, but still flashes very good bat speed and has some loft in his swing. He has a balanced, simple approach from both sides. Defensively, he doesn't have the quickest feet, but he showcased soft hands, an accurate 81-mph arm, and an ability to complete the slow roller play.
6/25/14 Baughman took one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event barreling the baseball to both gaps with a quiet load and a very strong lower half. The physical 6-foot-2, 205-pound right-handed hitting freshman registered an 88 mph bat exit velocity and although he struggled a bit against older pitchers in game play he did show his power potential with a double to the right center field gap on day two. Baughman is still developing physically and could be destined for a move across the diamond to 1B. He displayed capable actions at 3B with a 73 mph arm across the diamond.
12/28/12 Baughman put on an offensive show from both sides of the plate. The 7th grader showcased the top bat exit speed of the day with an impressive 89 mph. From the right side of the plate Baughman showed excellent rhythm and extension that allowed him to drive baseballs repeatedly. From the left side of the plate his swing was a bit longer and less developed, but he showed the potential to be a legitimate power threat from both sides in the future. As he continues to grow and mature, Baughman has the potential to be a highly recruited player in the Class of 2018. Baughman credits much of his advanced skills to his training with Kyle Wagner and his Green Light Hitting Techniques. He has been training in this fashion for the past three years at the GOWAGS Baseball Training Center
