Dougherty is an OF/RHP who attends New Hope-Solebury HS.  He hit .394 with a .530 SLG on his way to Honorable Mention all-BAL Independence honors as a junior.

4/17/14 Dougherty stood out in all facets of the game. The 6-foot-2, 150-pound right-handed hitter squared the baseball up in all four plate appearances and turned showed good feet with a 4.42 home-to-1B time on a turn in his first at bat. Dougherty showcased his arm strength by nearly gunning down a runner tagging from 2B on a throw from medium depth right-center field. For good measure the righty struck out two in an inning of work on the hill sitting 80-82 from a 3/4 arm slot. Dougherty also flashed a 2-seam FB with significant arm side run, an 11/5 curveball at 69 mph and a 75 mph slider out of the same arm slot.
