The 5-foot-10, 190-pound junior had a solid two days at the plate. Shultz registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity from a square stance with a lift and replace stride foot. He displayed a strong lower half in routinely barreling the baseball during batting practice. Shultz went on to go 3-for-7 in game play over the course of the event.

He barreled the baseball frequently during his round of batting practice with legitimate power potential to the pull side. Shultz displayed a steadily improving bat exit velocity of 82 mph. The sophomore ran a 7.53 60-yard dash and showed an accurate 71 mph arm across the diamond. Shultz has shown steady development over the past year and appears ready for a solid sophomore season.
7/30/13 Shultz is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound broad-shouldered prospect with an idea of how to pitch. The right-hander sat 76-77 with some arm side run to his fastball and commanded a quality 66 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed. Shultz went 1-for-3 at the plate in game action on day one of the event and showcased an 80 mph bat exit velocity.
1/13/13 Shultz ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and showed soft hands and the ability to play through the ball defensively. Shultz showcased a 77 mph bat exit velocity and some pop in his bat during his round of batting practice. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound right-handed hitter stayed behind the baseball well and used a strong lower half to drive baseballs consistently. Shultz displayed a 75 mph fastball, 59 mph curveball and 64 mph changeup during a solid bullpen session. He showed signs that his developing 11/5 breaking curveball could become an out pitch as he adds velocity to the pitch.
12/28/12 Shultz, who has a solid, athletic frame , showed promise as a hitter and pitcher. Offensively, he used a very solid lower half to consistently drive baseballs to all fields with a bat exit speed of 73 mph. Shultz has an explosive lower half and displayed legitimate power potential. He topped out at 72 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. Shultz also showed a 59 mph 11/5 breaking curveball with tight rotation and a 62 mph changeup at near fastball arm speed.
