10/08/17 Vietmeier continues to intiate swing from neutral set up and stays neutral with less aggressive leg kick and stride  than when last seen. Head is still. There is good balance and leverage to swing while staying behind baseball. Swing is on plane throughout hitting zone. A 90 mph bat exit velocity was recorded and swing played to a solid round of bp with line drives to all fields.

Vietmeier continues to display excellent receiving and framing skills. Blocking he shows shows good trunk angle while staying square and low. Feet work well and transfer is clean and quick in throwing. Throwing motion is short with 71 mph arm strength playing up to pop times of 1.99 - 2.08.

7/27/17 6-foot 200-pound right-handed hitter sets up neutral and initiates swing with substantial knee-to-knee leg kick. An aggressive lower half weight shift and hip turn results in good separation.  Hands are loose and direct to baseball. There is balance and rhythm to swing and load. Leg kick resulted in some difficulty consistently being on time on this day. Mechanics and strength play to bat exit velocity of 90 mph.
Defensively, glove hand is adequate with solid approach to framing. There is clean, quick transfer with short throwing motion and 76 mph arm strength resulting in pop times of 2.03-2.06.  Vietmeier would benefit from consistently staying square in blocking.

4/5/17 Physical 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter displayed ability to keep bat on plane throughout hitting zone.  Showcased good lower half turn, bat speed and separation. Had difficulty letting the ball get deep on this day against soft tossing right-hander. Received well from upper 80s to low 90s thrower demonstrating soft glove hand and adequate flexibility.
2/12/17 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter took one of the better rounds of batting practice on day two. Starts from an open stance and utilizes a short, leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Some length in swing, but flat barrel path allows for long time in hitting zone. Registered a 93 mph bat exit velocity and barreled baseballs to all fields. Showcased pop times of 2.20-2.35 on throws of 68 mph from the crouch. Limited arm strength, but quick feet and short arm stroke allow for quick transition.

2/14/16 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from a slightly open stance and strides to square. Demonstrated present strength and a feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Registered pop times of 2.19-2.25 on throws of 66 mph from the crouch. Showed solid receiving actions with a low set up and routinely keeps head behind baseball.
