2/15/14 Smeltz impressed with an event best 91 mph arm from the outfield. The athletic 6-foot, 170-pound junior registered a solid 4.09 home-to-1B time and barreled the baseball routinely from the right hand side of the plate. Smeltz hits from a square stance and creates significant barrel whip with a balanced, fluid swing and loose hands. He showcased an 83 mph bat exit velocity and good rhythm throughout his swing.
