3/24/16 6-foot-2, 170-pound two-way prospect touched 86 in the first inning and settled in at 83-84. Has shown upper 80s velocity in the past. Curvevall has 11/5 rotation with sharp down action at times. Two-way prospect also went 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base at the plate. Long limbed athletic frame should continue to fill out.

5/21/15 Talented two-way junior sat 85-88 for most of the game until the 7th inning when all of his pitches got better and fastball climbed to 90 mph. Curveball had tight 11-5 rotation at 71-74 with varying levels of depth.
5/8/15 Brooks showed good feet and above average arm strength at shortstop. The right-handed hitter barreled the baseball in two at-bats and walked in a third. Brooks has a balanced stance with solid bat speed with little wasted movement to his swing. The junior moved to the mound throwing just four pitches in relief topping at 87 mph.
2/15/14 Brooks might be migrating toward a RHP/IF designation, instead of the other way around. With an easy arm stroke and minimal effort, the 6-foot-1, 160-pounder worked his way from 85-86 his first few pitches to a couple of 88s and an 89, before popping 90-mph on his final pitch. Brooks strides slightly closed and works around his front leg at times. His curveball didn't have much bite today, although he has shown a feel for spin in the past. His change-up was straight and firm, but was thrown with good armspeed and had occasional sink.
At the dish, the right-handed hitter starts slightly open and strides to square. He showed a simple approach, his eyes stayed level, and he used the middle of the field, occasionally generating backspin, with a top exit velocity of 83-mph. Defensively, he exhibits good feet and hands with a quick, strong (85-mph), and accurate arm. Brooks also ran a 6.75 60-yard dash.
11/1/14 Brooks has a super quick arm in the field and on the mound. He showed solid feet and arm (85-mph across the diamond), very good hands, and an ability to make plays on the move. The right-handed hitter starts slightly open and strides to square with a high back elbow and hands in a good launch position. He takes a short path to the ball and stays inside well. He also ran a 6.94 60-yard dash and posted an 84-mph exit velocity. The lanky 6-foot-1, 160-pounder pumped fastballs at 83-84, touching 85-mph, and got downhill well with minimal effort. He kicks his front leg at the hitter, but stays on-line well and has more in the tank with better extension toward home plate. He flashed a solid straight change-up at 74-75 and a feel for spinning his curveball at 70-71.
5/14/14 Brooks is a medium-frame right-handed hitter with room to add strength. Average actions and solid arm. Only non-senior in line-up. Aggressive on bases; stole two bags and clocked a 3.41 on one of them.
