6/12/13 Dickey sat 80-81 out of a high 3/4 arm slot during his time on the mound, down from the 86-87 he showcased at the Preseason All-State Showcase in February. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound right-handed hitter displayed an 82 mph bat exit velocity while squaring the baseball consistently during batting practice. He also showed capable footwork and hands at 3B with throws of 82 mph across the diamond. Dickey went 1-for-5 at the plate in game play.
2/23/13 Dickey is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect who showed good athleticism in all facets of the game. He turned in a 4.28 home-to-first time, and showed the ability to play through the baseball defensively. Dickey displayed a solid arm with good carry on throws of 82 mph across the diamond. Dickey showcased quick hands and some pop in his bat from the right side of the plate with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. The switch-hitter lags behind in his abilities as a left handed hitter. Dickey topped off an impressive all around showing by sitting 86-87 with his fastball out of a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. The junior had topped at 83 mph at an event just a month earlier. He also commanded a tight breaking 11/5 curveball and a 76 mph changeup. Along with his showing at 3B Dickey made one of the biggest impressions of any prospect at the event.
1/26/13 Dickey showed very well in all facets of the game. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior showcased good range and athletic movements in the infield. He had good carry on throws of 78 mph across the diamond. Offensively, Dickey hits from a slightly closed stance, but does a good job of getting his hips cleared allowing his hands to work. He utilized an 80 mph bat exit velocity to consistently square the baseball to all fields. Dickey topped at 83 mph from the mound out of a high ¾ arm slot. He shows some arm side run on his fastball as well as on his 76 mph changeup. His curveball sits 67-69 with an 11/5 break.
