10/19/13 Costa showcased athletic actions and good straight line carry on throws of 80 mph from his outfield position. The 5-foot-5, 150-pound prospect showcased his foot speed with a 4.16 home-to-1B time from the right side of the plate. Costa utilized a square stance and a very short swing path to create a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. He barreled the baseball routinely in batting practice and displayed the ability to be a solid top of the order hitter at the next level.
8/25/13 Costa impressed with solid routes to the baseball, the ability to go get the baseball and an 82 mph arm from his outfield position. The 5-foot-5, 150-pound right handed hitter utilized a square stance and no stride in barreling the baseball repeatedly to all fields during a very solid round of batting practice. Costa showcased a bat exit velocity of 80 mph and a line drive stroke that is ideal for a top of the order hitter. Costa went 2-for-3 in game action at Widener University, turning a single into a double with aggressive base running. The uncommitted senior will be a solid contributor at the next level and should garner increased attention following his performance.
6/12/13 Costa impressed with his defensive abilities. The 5-foot-5, 140-pound OF showed the well above average range and an 85 mph arm. The right-handed hitter showed a consistent line drive approach in batting practice hitting from a square stance. Costa went 1-for-7 in game play, but showed a sound approach at the plate and the ability to put the ball in play consistently.
