6/16/15 - The 5 foot 10, 180-pound prospect posted a 7.62 60 time. Defensively Rodriguez had a position velocity of 77 mph across the infield. Rodriguez showed average arm strength with long arm action and a high ¾ arm slot with accuracy, sure-handed defensively with soft hands. Offensively from the right side Rodriguez showed bat speed with 87 mph exit velocity off the tee. Hits from a balanced setup with a short stride with good balance, Rodriguez is a line drive type hitter with some gap to gap power. He went 1-for-4 in game play with a single.
2/7/15 - The 5-foot-10, 178-pound infielder ran a 7.50 60-yard dash time, and had an 87 mph tee exit velocity, Rodriguez hit from a balanced setup with a leg kick trigger and short stride, showed good bat speed and is a potential gap to gap type hitter with some pop, swing path creates some lift. Defensively Rodriguez showed soft hands with an accurate arm across the infield. Continuing to work on speed and quickness will bode well for him to play middle infield at the next level.
11/1/14 - 5-foot-9, 167-pound prospect who was able to show projectable skills despite still feeling the effects of a lower leg injury suffered earlier in the fall season. Though obviously not at 100% Rodriguez was able to turn in a solid showing. Using a high- ¾ arm slot with longer arm action, the second baseman produces accurate throws to the bag, soft hands, fluid footwork and clean exchange. Spread hitting stance, smooth load, short stride, level swing path, 79 mph bat exit velocity, line drive approach, solid round of batting practice, went 0-for-3 in game play. One to watch for when fully healthy.
