06.20.17 - 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. The left-hander works from a ¾ slot with his fastball ranging from 85-86 mph with a little funk in the back and arm side run. His slider was 72 mph with good 2-8 shape.

05.18.17 - 6-foot-1, 175-pound, projectable, still developing frame. The left-hander works from a ¾ slot with a slight cross-fire delivery and a clean arm swing. His fastball continues to show arm side run with his fastball velocity ranging from 84-86 mph, topping out at 87. Sippel continues to show his ability to spin a breaking ball with good feel, keeping his hand on top of his slider at 73-75 mph with 1-7 shape.

05.05.17 - 6-foot-1, 170-pound, projectable frame. The left-hander works from more of a ¾ slot with a slight cross-fire delivery and clean arm swing. His fastball has arm side run and depth at 85-86 mph and produces weak contact. Out of the stretch he was 82-83 mph. The sophomore continues to show great feel for his slider that sits mostly 73-75 mph with 1-7 shape, but also ran it up to 77 mph. The pitch has depth and very little hump out of his hand, making it tough for hitters to lay off. This was not the youngsters best outing of the season, he was pulled after issuing six walks in four innings. However, he was not missing spots by much and still recorded five punchouts and allowed only one run.

03.31.17 - Long-limbed, projectable frame. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a medium, whippy arm stroke and slight cross-fire delivery. This uncommitted sophomore showed outstanding feel and pitchability on Friday, commanding both his fastball and slider in any count. His fastball ranged from 85-87 mph early in the game with slight arm side run. During the middle innings he still pitched in the 84-86 mph range and bumped 88 mph once in the fourth inning. His slider has bite and depth with 1-7 shape at 74-76 mph. Sippel can really spin ball and works both sides of the plate to right-and-left-handed hitters. He threw one slider in the dirt at 78 mph for a punchout. Possesses a good feel for holding runners and works in two different moves to first base, an average leg-lift, and a snap throw. His final line was 5.2 IP, 3 H, R, 6 K, BB. Sippel is a young arm that will certainly draw attention from college recruiters in the coming months.
