Chapman started the day by posting a 7.01-second 60-time with long athletic strides, then registered an exit velocity of 91 mph off the tee. The right-handed hitter has a balanced setup, loads back with some shoulder tilt. Lands with a short stride as his long arms slide back to trigger his hands. Direct path through the zone with quick hands, bat-lag, barrel whip and a loose finish. Hard contact and line drives from gap to gap during batting practice. Good extension through contact with more power to come in the future. At first base, Chapman has average hands, clean exchange and still developing footwork. Great target to throw to at first base and could transition to the outfield in years to come with his projectable frame and athleticism. His best baseball is certainly ahead of him.
