06.26.18
Projectable frame, 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with wiry strength.  Bogusz works from a high ¾ arm slot with a long and loose arm stroke at 86-88 mph. The long-levered right-hander has a simple delivery with plenty of fluidity and direction throughout, the ball comes easily out of the hand, has strong leg drive, with an athletic finish, and he keeps his head on the mitt throughout the pitch.  Bogusz threw his three-pitch mix consistently in the strike zone, and commanded his fastball to both sides of the plate. Worked his curveball down in the zone with 10/4 shape at 72-74 mph, and his changeup was 74-76 mph. Bogusz showed his athleticism by running a 6.89 60-yard dash, and by his fluid actions and arm strength from the outfield. Bogusz has fundamental footwork, moves with smoothness through the play with a clean exchange, and made low accurate throws with carry to the plate with a loose quick arm action. At the plate, he starts in an open stance, loads his weight back, takes an abbreviated leg kick into a short stride, pushes his hands back in his load, bars out his lead arm, has quick-twitch in his backside, has fluidity in the swing, looks to pull the baseball with some authority, and is loose through the swing with extension to the pull side.  Bogusz has a high ceiling, especially on the mound, he has quick-twitch actions all over the field, has fluidity in his actions, and has a live right arm with a very projectable body.

10.28.17
Bogusz has a wiry, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds, with plenty of room to add strength as he continues to mature. Although his biggest upside may be on the mound, Bogusz has shown good athleticism this fall as a position player, playing shortstop in the Metro Scout League, and outfield at the All-State Games. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, open stance, then triggers his hands back as he sits into a slight crouch, turning inward and landing square with a short stride. Creates torque while maintaining balance as he rotates his hips to transfer his weight. Hands work on an uphill plane creating lift to the pull side with an exit velocity of 86 mph. During the game, he singled sharply to left field. In the outfield, Bogusz moves with easy rhythm through the ball and has an accurate arm with a top velocity of 86 mph.

At 6-foot-2, 165-pound, Bogusz has a lean, wiry frame. The uncommitted junior is an athletic two-way player and has made jumps with his velocity this fall, showing good command of his sinker/slider stuff. After doing the position player workout in the morning, Bogusz hopped on the mound for an inning of work. The right-hander works from a ¾ slot with a long arm swing. In-line delivery down the mound, lands square. His fastball has arm side run and sink at 83-85 mph, and we have seen it up to 86-87 this fall. Slider has tight spin and short, lateral 10/4 shape at 73-74 mph. Pounds the zone, attacking hitters early in the count with his fastball to both sides of the plate. Can spin the slider early and late in the count. With his athleticism (6.94 runner) and projectable frame, look for Bogusz to make jumps this spring as he continues to add strength.

07.22.17
Bogusz has a lean-athletic, projectable, 6-foot-2, 160-pound, long-limbed frame. Confident player with good presence and high upside, started the day by running a 6.94-second 60-yard dash, long strides. A right-handed hitter, Bogusz has a relaxed, balanced, slightly crouched setup. Early load with rhythm as he triggers his hands down, then back with a front arm bar. Head stays still as he rotates to transfer his weight through contact. Barrel gets on plane early, creating lift with a high finish, hard contact during batting practice with an inside-out approach. Average bat speed (86 mph exit), strong hands. In the outfield, Bogusz threw 87 mph with a clean, loose arm, easy carry, excellent accuracy. Fluid rhythm through the ball, clean exchange, athletic crow hop.

On the mound, the right-hander works from a ¾ slot with a long, loose arm stroke and easy effort. Slight cross-fire delivery creates some deception, lands open and in-line with an athletic finish. His fastball sat mostly 83-84 mph, showing some arm side run, dipping down a couple of times to 81 mph. He threw his slider for strikes at 74-75 mph with 10-4 shape. Overall, Bogusz is a projectable arm with upside and more velocity to come.
