2.23.19

Estimated 6-foot-2, 170-pound wiry, projectable frame. The right-handed hitter has a long swing with a double toe tap during his load. Has a bit of a hitch to get his swing started. Flashed line drive power to the pull side.

1.19.19
Ivey has a projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 173-pounds, and still has room to add strength. Ran a 6.91 to start the day. The right-handed hitter has a natural ability to hit the ball on the barrel, using a bit of an “old-school” hitch to trigger his hands before striding forward and delivering the head with plenty of lag through the zone, strong hands, and a loose finish as he gets into his legs. Uses the whole field and shows pop to the pull side gap with a top exit velocity of 90 mph. Athletic defender in the outfield, cuts distance, good rhythm with an athletic crow hop and solid carry in a quick arm swing.

06.26.18
Projectable 6-foot-2, 171-pound athletic frame with strength.  Ivey ran a 6.97 60-yard dash to start his day. The right-handed hitter punished balls in batting practice making consistent hard contact off the barrel, and posted 89 mph exit velo off the tee.  Ivey has quick hands and wrists with strength that help him drive balls to the pull side, and he also flashed the ability to barrel the ball up the other way. He hits out of a crouched open stance with a lot of looseness and rhythm in his hands, he loads his hands down and back, takes a low leg kick where he generates some torque in his body, is on time with fluid rhythm, and is level through the zone with aggression in the swing.  Ivey closes ground aggressively in the outfield, made low accurate throws with carry to the plate with a clean over-the-top release, topped out at 88 mph.

01.13.18
Ivey could be the biggest sleeper of the ‘19 class because of his natural energy and quick twitch frame at 6-foot-2, 171-pounds. The right-handed hitter does not get cheated and even though he has an aggressive hack, he makes consistent, hard contact, has a really good sense of timing, and is on the barrel a lot. Generates good leverage with a natural hitch in his hands, loose hack, and strong weight transfer. Every time we see this guy he barrels up the baseball and puts together quality at-bats. Middle of the field approach and flashes gap power with more to come in the future. Exit velocity has made a jump since the fall at 89 mph off the tee. During the game, he singled to right field, and made an unbelievable play in centerfield, running down a would be triple with his back to the infield, making a basket-over the shoulder catch before running into the wall. In the outfield, Ivey throws from an over the top slot with a loose arm stroke at 82, further solidifying his all-around athleticism.

10.28.17
Ivey could be the biggest sleeper of the ‘19 class because of his natural energy and quick twitch frame at 6-foot-2, 171-pounds. Ranked No. 113 in Texas, the right-handed hitter does not get cheated. Even though he has an aggressive hack, he makes consistent, hard contact. He is a sub-7 runner (6.92) and also generates a ton of leverage with a natural hitch in his hands, and uphill path. Every time we see this guy he barrels up the baseball and puts together quality at-bats. Although his exit velocity is only 82 mph off the tee, don’t be fooled, this kid has real presence in the box and shows up on time with the barrel. In the outfield, Ivey throws from an over the top slot with a loose arm stroke at 86, further solidifying his all-around athleticism.

07.25.17
At 6-feet-1, 160-pounds, Ivey has a lean, athletic, fast-twitch frame. The rising junior began the day with a 6.92-second 60-yard dash. A right-handed hitter, Ivey has an open stance with early rhythm, working into a pronounced hitch with his hands as he loads into a leg kick. There are a lot of moving parts, but it works for him, as he lands balanced with an athletic lower half, and is on time with the barrel. Generates bat speed with loose, fast-twitch hands and quick hips. Lower half works well as he transfers his weight through contact with a high finish, creating lift and line-drive power. In the outfield, Ivey threw 86 mph from a high slot with a clean arm swing, average footwork, clean exchange and soft hands.

07.18.17
At 6-feet-1, 160-pounds, Ivey has a lean, athletic, fast-twitch frame. The rising junior began the day with a 6.93-second 60-yard dash. He has a quick arm stroke in the outfield throwing 85 mph, and showed solid actions on the infield. The right-handed hitter has fluid hack with strength and life in his hands as the ball jumps off his bat. With his athleticism, projectable fast-twitch frame, Ivey has a high ceiling and is sure to draw the attention of college recruiters sooner rather than later.
