5-foot-11, 200-pound, strong frame with well defined lower-half and broad shoulders. Behind the plate, Pettit showed elite receiving skills during the bullpen session. He has a relaxed set-up with strong hands and good feel for the position. During the workout portion he showcased easy actions, clean exchanges, solid footwork, clean arm action with consistent and accurate throws. He threw 74 mph on pop times ranging from 1.97-2.03. Pettit, a right-handed hitter, starts from a strong, wide-based, slightly open stance. Slow, early load with a low leg-kick, lands aggressively with good energy into his launch position. With slight lift in the bat path, Pettit showed strength at contact with some pull-side gap power and registered an exit velocity of 86 mph. At first base he transitions well off the bag into a low fielding position, average range and footwork. He threw 75 mph across the infield and ran a 7.53 60-yard dash.
