6-foot-1, 200-pound strong, athletic frame. Showed some of the best all-around tools at this event. DeLoach showed above average arm strength from center field during In-and-Out. He covered a lot of ground during games getting to balls in both gaps. Offensively, he has an athletic set-up, showing smooth rhythm and hand strength through contact in the middle of the field. His best home-to-first time was 4.25 on full swing ground ball to shortstop. Zach had a couple of base hits up the middle and was active on the bases after a couple of walks, stealing second base as well as going first to third on a wild pitch.

2020 DRAFT: Athletic and physical at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, DeLoach can impact the game in a variety of ways. With an above-average arm and plus speed, the outfielder's defense regularly shows above average, getting good reads off the bat and covering ground in all directions. He runs easy and can use his speed both in the outfield and on the base paths, where he has good first-step quickness and instincts (swiping six bags in six attempts through 18 games this spring). In the batter's box, the left-handed hitter possesses both bat speed and bat strength, showing plus-to-better raw power during batting practice, crushing balls high and deep to his pull side. After an adjustment to his lower half this past summer in the Cape, he is now getting to his raw power more often in games, with five long balls in 133 Cape at-bats and six dingers this spring in just 57 at-bats. DeLoach's strong summer and ability to carry over his gains into the shortened spring season (slashed .421/.547/.789) make him a top round target, particularly given his athleticism, toolset and the lust for productive college bats in the early rounds.

8/13/19: A Cape Cod All-Star and batting champion with a .353 average, DeLoach looks to rebuild his draft resume after a sophomore slump (.200/.318/.294) in 2019 which followed a solid freshman year (.264/.355/.374) for the Aggies. Athletic and physical at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, he can impact the game in a variety of ways. With an above average arm and plus speed, his defense showed above average, getting good reads off the bat and covering ground in all directions. He runs easy and can use his speed both in the outfield to make diving catches and on the base paths where he has good first-step quickness. He currently has swiped seven bases in 36 games for Falmouth. In the batter’s box the left-handed hitter possesses both bat speed and bat strength. He showed plus-to-better raw power during batting practice, crushing balls high and deep to his pull side. Showing a much more contact-oriented approach at the Shriners College Classic at Minute Maid this past spring, he has only five career home runs in 406 at-bats for the Aggies. However, after an adjustment this summer to his lower half, he is getting to his raw power more often with five long balls in just 129 Cape at-bats. With some length to his swing, DeLoach is prone to hot and cold stretches. However, if he can stay hot enough, long enough next spring, Day One is not out of the question given his athleticism, toolset and the lust for productive college bats in the early rounds. (Seifert)

3/3/19: Zach DeLoach (Texas A&M) was a highly regarded recruit out Hebron High School (Tex.), coming in at No. 91 on the 2017 Prep Baseball Report Top 100 list. Utilizing a contact-oriented approach, DeLoach adequately covers the plate to put balls in play, but isn't much of an extra-base hit threat at present, although he has shown above-average-to-plus raw power during batting practice on previous looks. He covers a lot of ground in center, getting good reads off the bat with the requisite closing speed to chase down balls in the gaps to either side. (Granger)
