Listed at 6-foot-2, the JMU transfer has a chance to bring some experience and offensive firepower to the middle of the Tech offense. During BP it was easy to see the homerun power to all fields that Hartigan possesses. He was working into a pretty steady wind that day and showed carry off the bat to all fields. I thought the swing during BP was a little bit longer, but he shortened it up a touch in game and displayed quick hands and strength through contact. Hartigan starts slightly open before striding and landing square. The hands load to a slight wrap, but his hand speed and strength allow him to deliver the barrel on time. He played right field on the day where he showed above average arm strength in pregame and should be able to handle either corner outfield spot. In his fourth and final at bat of the first game he hit a homerun that just cleared the left center field fence.

4.6.17: Hartigan has an athletic frame. Hits from the right side, short stroke with some bat speed and power potential. Mostly pull approach, but did take a ball the other way to drive in a run. Above average arm from center, decent first step with good speed. Ran a 4.19 out of the box on an infield single.

6.12.16 - Connor Hartigan quickly got to show off his arm strength in the outfield throwing out a runner at third base from fairly deep in right field.

3.10.16:  Hartigan is an athletic outfielder who has the potential to be a true five tool player. In the outfield, he gets good jumps on the ball, has good speed, a quick release, and a strong arm. At the plate, Hartigan has an upright athletic stance, a short stride forward and a smooth load back. He has explosive hips and maintains balance throughout his swing. He is a bit longer to the ball but has incredibly fast hands that help him generate bat speed. He gets good extension through the ball and has gap power to all fields with home run power to his pull side and the potential for more as he continues to develop.

7.14.15 Hit from a narrow stance that was tall and balanced.  Good rhythm in his hands.  Slight load back.  Stride was short and controlled.  At times strided to an open front foot.  Explosive hands that displayed a bat exit velocity of 96 MPH.  Lower half explodes to ball when he stays in his legs.  Maintained balanced throughout swing.  Swing path worked uphill and to pull side.  Swing has pull power.  Rhythm got stiffen at times.  Loosening him up and developing a smooth rhythm should allow him to be a consistent hitter with his explosive bat speed.  In the outfield, threw from a long and loose high ¾ arm slot.  Positional velocity of 88 MPH.  Throws had accuracy and life.  Displayed soft hands with footwork that was quick and fluid.  Played through the ball and exploded with his legs on his throws.  Athletic outfielder with good feel for his footwork.
