7/31/14: 6-foot-1, 175 pound, SS/RHP has an athletic frame with a very strong lower body. One the mound, he throws over the top and has a quick arm that is long and loose on the back side. He throws with some effort and his mechanics lose fluidity when he overthrows. Gough touched 87 and sat 81-85 on the day with his fastball, which has good downward plane to it. He showed a 12/6 breaking ball that ran 67-69 and flashed plus when he kept it down. Gough also showed a good change-up that ran 74-76 with full arm speed and good arm side run to it. His command of his change-up was outstanding. At the plate, he set up in an athletic and balanced stance with high hands. He showed outstanding bat speed (86 mph exit velocity) and showed impressive gap-to-gap power during his round. In the field, Gough was fundamentally sound showing good actions at SS with slightly above average arm strength. He is a very physical player that could move to 3B and have success.

11/9/2014: Gough stands 6-foot-2 and has an athletic frame with strong legs. He throws with max effort from a high three-quarters slot and has a quick arm that hitches a bit. His shoulders are uphill and closed at power position, and he does a good job of staying online through his complete follow through. Gough worked at 79-82 on the day, touching 84 a few times with some slight, late run on his fastball. He threw a slider that had 11/5 action because of his arm slot that ran 66-70 with late break to it. He also threw a change-up that had late sink to it that was 73.
Gough is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound, third baseman that hit from a tall athletic stance with high hands. Smooth load back, short stride, explosive lower half, fast hands. Line drive stroke with gap-to-gap power. Attacks the baseball. Had an exit velocity of 87 mph off of the tee. In the field, possessed above-average arm strength with a 79 positional velocity. Showed soft hands and average for work. Played through the baseball well. Had quick exchanges and was able to keep his arm strength. Good lateral movement with good instincts at the position.
