Ransom

Ransom is 5-10 with an athletic frame, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short loose arm action that is quick, normal effort to his delivery. Simple delivery that he repeats consistently. Fastball was 82-83, touching 84, with late run to it. Slider was 75-77 with good armspeed and late hard 2/8 break, pitch got some depth. Change-up was 77-78 with good armspeed and late fade to it. Strike thrower showed feel for all three pitches.

6.13.17: Ransom has an athletic frame. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short, quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders closed and uphill, lands slightly closed with an athletic finish. Fastball sat 81-83, touched 85 with some late run. Slider had some armspeed and late hard 2/8 break, running 71-74. Change-up was thrown with some armspeed, pitch was 74-76 with some run.

2.18.17:  Ransom is 5-10 and has an athletic frame with a strong lower half. Drop and drive delivery, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short, quick arm action and some effort. Shoulders are closed and uphill, lands closed with an occaisional fall off finish. Fastball was 81-83 with late sink. Change-up was 73-77 with good armspeed and some sink to it. Curveball had late sharp 2/8 break with good armspeed, running 68-72. Showed good feel for the strikezone with all three pitches.

5.22.16:  Ransom stands 5-9 and has a strong lower half to his frame. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Long arm action that is quick, throws with high effort. Shoulders are slightly uphill and he stays on line to a square landing with a fall off finish. Fastball had late run, sat 82-83, touched 84. Sharp 1/7 curveball with decent armspeed, 68-72. Good armspeed on change-up that had arm side run, sitting 71-77.

5.16.16:  Ransom is an athletic lefty that throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Short, quick arm action and throws with a lot of effort. His shoulders are closed and level as he strides to a closed landing, falling off and recoiling as he finishes. His fastball had late run, sitting 76-80 and touching 81. Changeup had good armspeed and sink, running 70-75. Curveball had gradual 2/8 break at 64, with the potential to improve greatly as it tightens.
