8/9/15 - Verbally committed to Evansville.

6/18/15 - Large frame, 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, solid sturdy build. Delivery works slightly across his body, top side stays closed, good tempo, ability to repeat. Arm action is loose, long draw with wrapping action, high ¾ slot, strong arm. Fastball sat 88-90 mph, ability to throw strikes. Curveball has more lateral action, 10/4 plane, 69-72, decels at release, could be better suited for slider. Changeup featured slight sink, 77-80 mph.

3/15/15- 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, big durable frame. Delivery works online, slight tilt and topple style delivery, works slightly across his body with recoil finish. Arm action has a shorter draw, high ¾ slot with length in front. Fastball flashed sinking action, sat 87-88 in the windup, dipped slightly to 85 mph out of the stretch. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 68-73 mph. Showed feel for a changeup, good arm speed, 76-79 mph with arm side action. Lukas has made huge strides since seeing him last year gaining almost 7-8 mph on his fastball.

3/16/14 - 6-foot-2, 220-pound two way player with a strong frame. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Arm works long and loose from a low ¾ slot. Fastball is straight, sat 77-80 mph, flashing 81 mph once. Throws a curveball with 10/4 shape and sweeping action, 62-68 mph. Showed feel for his changeup, throwing it for consistent strikes, 73-75 mph. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, backward hand load, short stride, some balance. Swing is stiff, with a short path. Exit velocity was 73 mph off a tee. At first base he showed stiff actions. Arm works at 72 mph across the diamond. Posted a 4.68 home to first time.

4/26/19: Six-foot-4, 230-pound right-handed pitcher. Large build, naturally thick all around, sloped shoulders, loose upper body. Works from third base side, subtle forward rocker step, double sets post leg, lacks direction, works rotational with soft glove side, tends to spin off the baseball and recoil finish. Easy arm strength guy. Arm action has made significant improvements on back side since HS, should be athletic enough to make necessary future adjustments. Fastball shows plus-plus velocity, touched 97-100 mph, regularly sat 93-96 in first two innings, finished at 92-94 mph. FB lacks present control, has struck out 69 in 59.1 IP with 34 BB on the year, numbers that have steadily improved each year in college. Knowing his HS history and seeing adjustments already made in AA, speaks to ability to continue to make adjustments in delivery and potentially improve FB command. SL seamed to be most reliable secondary pitch, only used a handful of times from the third inning on, 85-86 mph, sweep action. Flashed CB at 79 mph. Showed CH and SPLT in warmups. Final line – threw 91 pitches in 4+ IP, 1H, 1R, 6K, 6BB. Projects as a plus-plus FB reliant setup role with average control. (Nielsen)

6/19/18Junior, RHP, Mankato (Evansville) – 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, athletic build. Starting pitcher with a 3/4 slot and a quick arm. Very loose, easy delivery. FB was straight, but with above average velocity. Sat 93-96 early, and 89-93 through the 6th - still hitting 95 in the 5th. This pitch overpowered hitters. Relied on the FB, and it produced many swing and misses - especially up in the zone potentially indicating high RPM. Other two pitches were CB and CH, both were average. CB clocked in at 80-83, had sharp 11/5 movement. Good pitch that he only threw sparingly. Hardly saw a CH, threw exclusively to LHHs. Velocity was 86-87. Allowed a couple hits in his outing but consistently blew the FB by hitters. Struck-out 9 of the 25 batters he faced, walked 1 and allowed 5 hits over his 6.1 inning outing. Very nice pickoff move helped him record an out early in the game. Allowed only 1 run before being removed from the game after being beamed by his catcher on a stolen base attempt. (Jake Stone)

8-1-2018: It’s hard to get too excited over a one-inning stint in an All-Star Game, but there’s no doubt Lukas caught everyone’s attention with his electric showing. Lukas struck out 43 and walked 30 in 41.2 innings for the Purple Aces this past spring, while this summer, he has a much better SO:BB ratio at 59 strikeouts vs. 17 walks in 44 innings, along with a 2.04 ERA. It’s easy to see why Lukas has had much success at the NWL. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder, has a strong, sturdy, and had a very steady/calm demeanor on the mound in front of a large throng of scouts. Lukas attacked hitters with a fastball ranging 91-94 and up to 95 mph. He used it to put away standout Zach Daniels. He also showed a promising slider at 85 mph with some sharp action as his primary secondary option, while he’s shown an upper-80s changeup throughout the summer as well. Lukas has the frame and velocity to be a big-time prospect in 2019, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can hold his velocity as a starter for the Aces next spring. For now, he looks like a reliever at the next level. (K Rogers)
