2/3/14 - Long athletic frame, projectable body, can carry additional strength, 6-foot-2, 170-pound switch hitting catcher. Butkiewicz has one of the best arms in the class out of the crouch. He topped out at 84 mph coming out of his squat, posting pop times of 1.97-2.04. His arm has carry and accuracy using a clean loose arm action. He still needs to refine some things defensively but his overall athleticism should make that an easy proposition. Butkiewicz has above average athleticism as we’ve previously seen him move well in the outfield. At the Super 60 he ran a 7.07 in the 60-yard dash. Offensively he hits from both sides of the plate using an athletic setup with a leg kick trigger. His bat path works slightly uphill but shows above average bat speed and his hands work well from both sides. Butkiewicz also shows solid hand eye from both sides of the plate suggesting he can stick as a switch hitter.
