9/23/15 - Verbally commits to Minnesota-Duluth
7/12/15 - 6-foot-3, 215-pound, right-handed pitcher with a large frame. Currently ranked No. 44 in the Wisconsin Class of 2016. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Short leg lift with an online delivery. Works fast. Fastball sat 84-85 topping out at 87 mph. Curveball sat 73-74 mph. Changeup showed sink at 74 mph. Uncommitted.
6/18/15 - 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed pitcher, solid sturdy build. Tall and fall delivery, uptempo, works online, good direction. High ¾ arm slot, short and quick action, some effort. Fastball reached 85 mph, sat 80-83 mph with a heavy feel, flashing sinking action. Curveball works on 12/6 plane, 70-72 mph. Changeup sinks, fastball arm speed, 69-72 mph.
4/10/15 - Big bodied right-handed pitcher, 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. Pitches with good rhythm, uptempo, gets the ball and goes, works at his pace. Short over the top arm action, athletic delivery, especially out of the stretch, keeps his rhythm using slide step and holds velocity. Fastball is mostly four seam straight action, pounds the zone, heavier feel when down, tough to barrel at the bottom of the zone, sat 80-83 mph, touched 84 mph early. Curveball worked at 70-73 mph. Flashed a changeup with good sink.
7/23/13 - Berg is a solid 6-foot-2, 195-pound right handed pitcher with a sturdy lower half. Delivery is uptempo, excellent pace of play, repeats well and pounds the zone. Tall and fall style pitcher, landing is slightly open. Arm action is short with quickness from a high ¾ slot. Fastball is mostly straight, flashed late finish through the hitting zone, 79-80 mph with command. Curveball worked on a 12/6 plane, flashing sharp action, advanced action for age, thrown aggressively with control, 67-70 mph. Changeup showed advance action as well, highly aggressive arm action, featured fading action with occasional sink, 71-73 mph. Berg showed the ability to pound the zone with all three pitches and work at an up-tempo pace. Berg wastes little time on the mound and controls the pace of play well, leaving hitters uncomfortable in the box.
3/3/13 - Advanced body for age, 6-foot-1, 190-pound two way player. Has a higher projection on the mound. Delivery is smooth, shows regular effort. Arm action is loose, high ¾ arm slot, quick arm action. Fastball showed run and sink to his arm side, flashed hard action, 77-79 mph, showed feel. Curveball has 12/6 shape, lacks finish, leaves arm side, decelerated hand speed, 61-63 mph. Changeup is thrown with near fastball arm action, 71-74 mph. Defensively uses long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, with accuracy (72 mph), lacks foot quickness. At the plate hits from an open stance, minimal stride. Shows bat speed for age, 79 mph exit velocity. Hits off backside, pull side approach. High follow on the mound.
