7/12/17 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, Short demonstrated considerable arm quickness out of a high 3/4 arm slot.  FB sat 85-87 with substantial arm side run and sink.  There is good rhythm and repeatability to delivery. CB thrown at 71-72 mph had 11-5 shape and late, sharp break with good depth. There was difficulty commanding change up on this day. Mechanically, Short consistently brought his stride foot down and behind his drive leg prior to returning on line at front foot contact. This created a subtle forward weight shift during stride.  Benefit would be gained from staying in line from balance point through front foot contact

 
8/9/15 Short sat 76-79 while topping at 80 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. The 5-foot-11, 150-pound two-way prospect also displayed a 66 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation during three innings of work, allowing two runs. Short ran a 7.78 60-yard dash and showcased an 80 mph arm across the diamond. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short lift-and-replace stride. Short stays inside the baseball consistently and displayed a bat exit velocity of 74 mph.
