LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - Our final release of the Power 25 rankings comes on the eve of regional playoffs that will kick off up and down the state. While some teams decided to opt out of the state tournament, there will be more action packed baseball headed your way featuring some of the best teams in all of California. Sectional championships took place last week with a great game in San Diego and a 14 inning, two-day thriller in the North Coast Section.
Next up for some teams are the regional baseball championships. Because there is no true state champion in California where there would be a north v south matchup - preferrably 2 of 3 - to determine a champion, many teams continue to opt-out of playing in these regional competitions. As such, we at Prep Baseball California have determined that because there are top teams not playing in this, we cannot allow that to impact our team rankings, thus the final rankings this week.
Teams in NorCal entering the Division 1 NorCal Baseball Regional are (in order of seed): No. 3 Granada, No. 7 St. Mary’s (Stockton), No. 21 Archbishop Mitty, No. 11 De La Salle, No. 16 Rocklin, Granite Bay, No. 9 Valley Christian, and No. 12 Clovis West. In Southern California, the Division I SoCal Baseball Regional board sets out as: No. 4 Orange Lutheran, No. 18 Torrey Pines, No. 5 Huntington Beach, No. 22 Rancho Bernardo, No. 6 Santa Margarita, Granite Hills, No. 20 La Mirada, and No. 23 Cathedral Catholic.
With all the results from the regular season and sectional playoffs, we bring you our final Power 25 that reflects the winners and competitors who rose to the top in playoffs and had strong regular seasons to back them up.

The Top Five:
Only one change happened in the top five with the same five teams remaining. Granada won the North Coast Section’s division one bracket in a 14 inning game win that played over the course of two days, walking it off over No. 11 De La Salle with a final score of 1-0. Because of this, Granada moves into No. 3, bumping Orange Lutheran and Huntington Beach down a spot each to number four and five respectively.
Risers/Newcomers:
+ Torrey Pines has risen six spots following their win over No. 22 Rancho Bernardo in the CIF-SDS Open Division Final on Thursday night. They played three games in a row to make claim the title with a win over formerly ranked Granite Hills. They enter the SoCal playoffs with a record of 23-10 and will face No. 20 La Mirada.
+ Archbishop Mitty enter the Power 25 following a run to the title with wins over No. 9 Valley Christian and formerly ranked St. Ignatius to with the CIF-CCS Division 1 final. They hold an overall record of 19-12-1 and will enter the NorCal tournament.
+ Liberty (Bakersfield) rises 10 spots into the top 10 at No. 8 after winning the Central Section against No. 12 Clovis West 9-6. They finish with a record of 29-4 as they will not participate in the state tournament.
