Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Special "thank you" to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches from around the state of AL.

Week 1 Player of the Week

Dillon Adkins OF / LHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2025

Dillon Adkins kicked off the high school season in dominant fashion, showcasing his all-around offensive talent with a scorching .429 batting average (9-for-21) in Week 1. The slugger displayed his power by belting three home runs and a double while driving in 10 runs and scoring 10 times himself. His disciplined approach at the plate earned him five walks, contributing to an impressive on-base presence, and he added three stolen bases to round out his dynamic performance. Adkins’ red-hot start has set the tone for what looks to be a standout season ahead.

Week 1 Pitcher of the Week

Paxton Stallings RHP / 3B / Chelsea, AL / 2025

Paxton Stallings was lights out on the mound in Week 1, tossing two complete-game shutouts to lead his team to a strong start at the Prep Baseball Kickoff Classic and South Alabama Showdown. The right-hander went 2-0, allowing just four hits over 14 scoreless innings while striking out 10 against tough opponents in Central-Phenix City and Mobile Christian, two powerhouse programs in the state of Alabama. Stallings looks poised to continue to lead the Hornets on both sides of the ball this spring.
