We are seeking highly qualified associates to work and supervise data collection and dissemination of the MLB Draft League. MLB has partnered with Prep Baseball Report, the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services. Prep Baseball Report is staffing many positions within the Draft League. With more than 150 scouts, we have the largest baseball scouting infrastructure across all levels of amateur baseball. Interns that have excelled have gone on to roles with PBR and MLB Clubs. 

+ Player Personnel and Data Coordinator - Summer Internships 

Player Personnel and Scout Liaison 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the point person for all League communications and player movement to teams and scouting groups
  • Coordinate players travel to and from the host team city. 
  • Assisting General Manager with intake and exiting process for all rostered players
  • Manage teams scout communications Twitter feed. (i.e. daily lineups, pitching rotations, any changes)
  • Facilitate video coordination of all game and practice video to coaching staff and players
  • Assist Manager and coaching staff with any in game needs
  • Facilitate pitch clock coordination and execution during home games
  • Travel with team for road games and support daily operations of home team

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and strong interest in baseball operations, amateur scouting, player development, or team operations
  • Proficiency with computers (Windows, Mac).
  • Experience playing or coaching is a plus.
  • Must bring your own computer
  • Must have access to reliable housing and transportation to a Draft League location.

Compensation: 

  • Stipend to be paid bi-weekly, in addition to a per diem for road games
  • The role requires availability outside of traditional work hours including night, weekends and all home games of your assigned location
  • Note: hours / working days are not limited to game days

Data Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Manage game day video and technology equipment for data capture.
  • Serve as technology liaison for Draft League teams.
  • Track and update rosters and player information to communicate with PBR HQ and data vendors as assigned.
  • Verify data accuracy and video quality.
  • Provide daily updates to staff and content partners (TrackMan, Synergy).
  • Work with the rest of the content and social team to create, edit and deliver video playlists and written scouting reports.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Aid in the distribution of information to players, coaches, and the PBR website.
  • Answer ad-hoc research questions pertaining to player performance and game recaps.
  • Collect and manage large data sets. This may involve writing scripts for automation as well as manual data entry.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and strong interest in baseball operations, amateur scouting, player development, or baseball analytics
  • Proficiency with computers (Windows, Mac).
  • Experience with baseball technology is a plus.
  • A technical education or skillset is a plus.
  • Must have access to reliable housing and transportation to a Draft League location.
