The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.
Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK
The Albertville Aggies enter the 2025 season with expectations of being another competitive club this spring and hoping they can continue to chip away at some of the teams in their area. Bringing back a quality amount of returners on both sides of the ball, the Aggies are hoping to that this can be the season that they compete for a playoff spot in a loaded Class 7A.
After starting the season 1-4 in 2024, the Aggies really seemed to find something during the middle part of the season and would go on to finish with a 12-9 record going into area play. Competing against some quality teams, the Aggies unfortunately finished at the bottom of their area and missed out on the Class 7A playoffs. Looking to turn the page and set their sights towards taking the next step within their program, the Aggies bring back five starters both positionally and on the mound, and will likely lean on their pitching as their main strength in 2025. Starting at the top, RHP/INF Trenton Croghan (2025) and RHP/UTL Kade Anderson (2025) are a pair of seniors like are looking likely to lead the Aggies in a variety of ways. Both have quality experience at the varsity level and are hoping to go out with a strong season as seniors. RHP Wesley Knight (2025) is a 6-7. 180-pound right-handed pitcher who looks primed to log a significant amount of innings on the mound for the Aggies, as well. Looking at some talented underclassmen, RHP/UTL Bralyn Baugh (2027) and RHP/INF Britt Carroll (2027) are a pair of sophomores who look ready to make an impact at the varsity level. Both have the ability to do so and have bright futures of ahead of them within the Aggies' program.
Much like the middle part of last season, the Aggies are hoping they can find their stride down the stretch and be playing their best baseball going into area play. They'll compete in Class 7A, Area 7 against Grissom, Huntsville, and Sparkman for a spot in the playoffs at the end of the regular season. Expect the Aggies to rely on some key senior returners both at the plate and on the mound while hoping their talented underclassmen can help take the next step in 2025.
