2025 Fairview Aggies Team Preview

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Fairview Aggies made significant strides in the 2024 season, improving their record from 10-18 to 21-13-1 while earning a spot in the Class 5A playoffs. As they aim to carry that momentum into 2025, the Aggies will rely on a strong core of experienced players both at the plate and on the mound this spring.

Finishing as the area runner-up behind a talented Springville squad that reached the Final Four, the Fairview Aggies faced a tough road test in the opening round of the playoffs, traveling to powerhouse Madison Academy. Despite a hard-fought effort, they were eliminated in two games, closing the season with a 21-13-1 record. Still, the 2024 campaign marked a major step forward for the program, and they’re eager to build on that success this spring. With an impressive 10 pitchers returning from last year’s staff, the Aggies will look to their deep and experienced rotation as a key strength. They also bring back six positional starters, ensuring they remain a well-rounded team both offensively and defensively. Leading the charge are senior standouts RHP/3B Nic Gregory (2025), RHP/OF Colton Jennings (2025), and OF Barrett York (2025), each aiming to cap off their high school careers with strong final seasons. Gregory was a force on both sides of the ball in 2024, batting .370 while posting a 3-3 record with a 2.26 ERA. Jennings and York also provided key offensive production, each hitting over .300 as juniors. Their leadership and consistency will be crucial this spring. Another returning upperclassman poised for a breakout season is RHP/1B Jaxson Robertson (2026), who logged significant innings as a sophomore, finishing 6-3 with a 2.28 ERA. As he steps into a bigger role, Robertson will be a key piece of the puzzle for Fairview. The Aggies also boast a promising group of underclassmen, led by INF/RHP Conner Scott (2027) and LHP Jonah Eckleberry (2027), both of whom made major impacts as freshmen. Scott hit .398 while notching six saves and a 3.20 ERA, and Eckleberry impressed with a 4-0 record and a 2.80 ERA. Additionally, OF/RHP Camden Cullen (2027) and INF/RHP Lincoln Wright (2027) are expected to take on larger roles, providing valuable depth on both sides of the ball. With a strong mix of experienced veterans and emerging young talent, the Aggies enter 2025 with high expectations and the potential to take another big step forward.

The Aggies certainly appear to be a potential playoff team once again going into this season, but they'll need to play their best baseball down the stretch in order to make it. They'll compete in Class 5A, Area 15 against Arab, Brewer, and Guntersville for a spot in the playoffs at the end of the regular season. Hoping to replicate last year's strong season, expect the Aggies to be right back in the playoff contention at the end of 2025
