2025 Hartselle Tigers Team Preview
February 12, 2025
The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.
Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.
*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK
Coming off a 2024 State Runner-Up finish, Hartselle enters the 2025 season looking to reload after key departures. Despite returning only three positional starters and one pitcher, the Tigers still have the offensive depth, speed, and defensive talent to remain a force in Class 6A.
Consistently one of the top programs in the state of Alabama, the Tigers have made it to the Class 6A State Finals in three of the last four seasons, including a state championship in the 2022 season. Looking to make it back this spring after finishing as the runner-up to Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa last spring, the Tigers add some key pieces to both sides of the ball and begin the season at No. 1 in the Class 6A Top-10 Polls. Leading the offense are INF Ty Marsh (Western Kentucky, 2025) and INF Easton Nelms (Samford, 2025), both experienced bats who will anchor the lineup. OF Cole Miles (Jacksonville State, 2026) adds athleticism and speed, while INF Asher Doepel (2026) and OF Cruise Baker (2026) will take on larger roles and will look to provide some key production offensively. On the mound, RHP Jace Meadows (Alabama-Huntsville, 2025) is one of their top returning pitchers after logging significant innings and throwing in some big games, and will be a critical leader for the staff during his senior campaign. LHP Carson Wilson (2025) and RHP Connor Stiles (2026) are a pair of underclassmen who should also throw some important innings throughout the spring. RHP Will Sharp (2026) is another junior who should provide some quality depth to the pitching staff this season. The Tigers will rely on several young players, including UTL Witt Crisler (2027) and UTL Braden Weathers (2027), who could provide depth in multiple roles. LHP/OF Connor Bradley (2027) and UTL Jack Sims (2027) are also expected to develop into key contributors and have bright futures within their program over the next few years.
Despite roster turnover, Hartselle's tradition of success and strong offensive depth should keep them competitive in Class 6A. They'll compete in Class 6A, Area 15 against Athens, Decatur, and Muscle Shoals for a spot in the playoffs at the end of the regular season. If their young pitching staff steps up, the Tigers could once again make a deep postseason run.
