2025 Rehobeth Rebels Team Preview

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Making the jump up from Class 5A to Class 6A this season, the Rebels should only bolster the deepest classification in the state with another quality team added to the mix. After experiencing some success at the Class 5A level, the Rebels will feature a senior-laden club and hopes that experience pays off with a playoff berth at the end of the season.

Playing a quality regular season schedule throughout the season in 2024, the Rebels faced off against teams like Mountain Brook, Homewood, Enterprise, Mary G. Montgomery, Dothan, and others, in hopes of preparing themselves for area play and the playoffs. They clinched their playoff spot finishing as the runner-up in their area to Headland and traveled on the road to Shelby County in the 1st round of the playoffs. The Rebels, however, were ultimately eliminated in that 1st round matchup by the Wildcats to close out their season with a 16-15 record. Looking at the outlook for the 2025 campaign, the Rebels are expected to feature a strong amount of seniors on both sides of the ball who will provide valuable productiion and leadership in the final year of the high school careers. They will look to have a strong defense with quality team speed, as well. Looking at some of those notable returners, RHP/1B Jake Franklin (2025), OF JW Bass (2025), OF Jacob Fristche (2025), 1B Jack Helms (2025), UTL/RHP Caden Wright, and UTL/RHP Jaxon Leger (2025) are expected to be key contributors at mutliple key positions for the Rebels this spring. OF/RHP Aydin Smith (2025) is another senior to watch for this season, while INF Dalton Fraedrich (2027), C/INF Grayson Arnette (2028), RHP/3B Ty Nance (2028), and RHP/RHP Brody Cook (2027) are all underclassmen with bright futures ahead within the program and will look to compete for playing time in the early part of the spring.

Competing in their first season in a new classification, having numerous quality senior returners should only benefit the Rebels as the competition picks up and they look to have the talent to match it. They'll compete in Class 6A, Area 3 against Park Crossing, Pike Road, and Russell County for a spot in the playoffs at the end of the regular season. With quality talent mixed up and down this year's roster, Rehobeth looks prepared for a strong 2025 campaign in Class 6A.
