Alabama Diamond Notes: Week 4

The Alabama Diamond Notes will showcase standout performances from across the state, based on nominations from high school coaches. Each Wednesday throughout the high school season, we will recognize position players, pitchers, and two-way players who delivered impressive performances during their team's games. A special thank you to the many coaches who submitted nominations this week. The following stats reflect games played from March 10th - 15th.

Matthew Drinkwater 3B / RHP / James Clemens, AL / 2026The uncommitted junior was 4-9 (.444) last week with two runs driven and three runs scored. He also walked twice and ended the week with a .583 OBP. On the mound he went 1-0 with a save with 7 innings pitched. He allowed three hits and two earned runs while striking out nine. |

Hayden Udovich SS / 2B / James Clemens, AL / 2026Udovich, an uncommitted junior, was was 4-9 (.444) last week for the Jets. He drove in two runs and also scored two runs. He ended the week with a .583 OBP as he got on base via walk twice and hit-by-pitch once. |

Trip Morgan 1B / 3B / James Clemens High School, AL / 2025Morgan hit .400 (4-10) last week which included two doubles. The uncommitted senior scored a run and drove in three runs as well. He also reached base via walk once and ended the week with a .455 OBP. |

Conner Nelson C / SS / Leeds, AL / 2025The uncommitted senior had a big week for the 5A No. 9 Greenwave as he hit .462 (6-13) for the week. He had a homerun and drove in four runs while scoring a run as well. He also tossed a complete game (7 IP) shutout as he allowed only two hits and struck out 14 hitters. |

Ethan Sarratt 3B / SS / Southside, AL / 2027The sophomore was 4-5 (.800) last week as the Panthers have gotten off to an impressive 15-2 start in 2025. Sarratt collected two doubles and ended the week with an .875 OBP. |

Alex Brewer 1B / RHP / Southside, AL / 2026An uncommitted junior, Brewer hit .600 (3-5) last week with two doubles and two runs driven in. He finished the week with a SLG % of 1.000 and a .875 OBP. |

Myles Hammonds OF / SS / Bob Jones High School, AL / 2025The uncommitted junior continues to produce at a high level for the 7A No. 3 Patriots. Last week he was 9-16 (.563) with two doubles and five runs driven in. He swiped two bases, walked three times and scored seven runs. |

Zackary Johnson C / OF / Bob Jones, AL / 2025Another productive week for the Alabama recruit as he was 10-18 (.556) last week with three doubles. The senior catcher drove in four runs and also scored once. |

Dillon Adkins OF / LHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2025The uncommitted senior continues to produce at a high level for the Patriots as he was 5-15 (.333) a week ago. Of those five hits, two went for doubles and one was a home run. Adkins scored two runs and drove in five. |

Jaden Charles OF / SS / Hazel Green, AL / 2025The uncommitted senior and former Future Gamer continues to assert himself offensively in 2025 as he was 10-19 (.526) a week ago with four doubles and six stolen bases. Charles also drove in five runs and walked three times. |

Bryce Zimmerman SS / 2B / Hazel Green, AL / 2026An uncommitted junior, Zimmerman was 9-19 (474) last week for the 6A No. 8 Trojans. He was an extra-base hit machine as he had two home runs, a triple and three doubles. He scored 13 runs, drove in ten and stole four bases. |

Evan Brazelton OF / OF / Arab , AL / 2025The Arab Knights went 3-1 last week in the Gulf Coast Classic and Brazelton was a large part of that success. The uncommitted senior outfielder was 6-15 (.400) with five runs driven in during the week. |

Memphis Scott 3B / 2B / Madison County, AL / 2025Scott, a UAH recruit, enjoyed a successful week for the Tigers as he was an impressive 9-13 (.692) with two home runs and two doubles. He scored five runs and also drove in six while reaching base six more times via walk or hit-by-pitch to finish the week with an OBP of .765. |

Trey Harville OF / Austin, AL / 2028A freshman, Harville was 7-12 (.585) a week ago for the Black Bears. He had a home run, a triple and five runs driven in. He also scored four runs and stole three bases. |

Jaxon Potter OF / Austin High School, AL / 2025The uncommitted senior outfielder was 6-13 (.462) a week ago with a double and five runs driven in. Potter also walked three times and stole four bases. |

Mikey Poss LHP / 1B / North Sand Mountain, AL / 2025The uncommitted senior was 6-9 (.667) last week. Poss had a home run with eight runs driven in and seven runs scored. He also went 1-0 on the mound as he tossed 6.2 innings with nine strikeouts. |

Levi Burgess 1B / RHP / North Sand Mountain, AL / 2029An eighth grader, Burgess hit an even .500 (5-10) last week for the 2A No. 9 Bison. He drove in seven runs and scored four times as well. |

Jaxson Stiles OF / North Sand Mountain, AL / 2025An uncommitted senior outfielder, Stiles helped the Bison go 3-0 last week as he was 6-13 (.462) with five runs scored. He also reached base once via hit-by-pitch. |

John Luke Stephens SS / RHP / Gulf Shores, AL / 2026Stephens, a Mississippi Gulf Coast CC recruit, was 4-8 (.500) last week. All of his hits went for doubles (four) as he drove in four runs as well. He scored four runs and had a stolen base. |

Brodie Wilson RHP / 1B / Faith Academy, AL / 2027Wilson, a sophomore, doubles as quality right-handed arm and 1st baseman for the 5A No. 4 Rams. Last week saw him produce in a big way with the bat as he went 4-6 (.667) with two home runs and two doubles. He drove in seven runs and scored five times. |

Last week he was 1-0 with a complete game win (7 IP) over the No. 2 ranked team from Tennessee . He struck out ten opposing hitters and scattered six hits in the win. |

Blain White C / RHP / Hazel Green , AL / 2027Making his first varsity start on the mound for the Trojans, the sophomore turned in a complete game (7 IP) effort to get the win. White allowed only two hits and one run. He did not walk anyone and struck out six. |

Davis Ford LHP / OF / Opelika, AL / 2025The uncommitted senior southpaw was brilliant in his start versus a quality opponent in Saraland. Ford threw a complete game (7 IP) no-hitter while not allowing a run. He struck out ten and walked four. |

Brayden Cash SS / OF / Bibb County High School, AL / 2027Cash tossed a complete game (7 IP) gem in a 2-0 win versus Calera for the 4A No. 3 Choctaws. Cash struck out ten and did not walk anyone. He did not allow a run while scattering two hits over his seven innings of work. |

Frank Clark RHP / Arab, AL / 2025An uncommitted senior, Clark was maginificent in a relief outing as he went 6.1 innings on the mound to get the win. He allowed three hits, three earned runs and struck out five against Madison County. |

Bentley Stidham SS / RHP / Austin High School, AL / 2026Stidham earned the win against Whitesburg Christian by going six innings on the mound. The uncommitted junior struck out six and allowed only four hits and one earned run. |

Dillon Rains RHP / Austin High School, AL / 2026The uncommitted junior right-hander went 1-0 a week ago with a complete game (7 IP) win over new Hope. He scattered three hits and allowed one earned run. Rains struck out three opposing hitters. |
