March 25-30  AHSAA Players of the Week:

As is the norm, there were some very impressive performances across the state this week as the action heats up across Alabama. Below are the 14 players named PBR Player of the Week for last week.

Luke Daniel (2020, RHP, Wilson) The Auburn commit was dominant vs. St. Paul's this week. He threw a complete game shutout allowing 3 hits, issuing 2 BB's while striking out 17. He also had two 2B's and and an RBI in the win. 

Bryce Sanders (2022, LHP, Central Phenix City) The freshman southpaw had a pair of dominating complete game performances this week going 20 on the mound. For the week, he had 14 IP, 7 K's, 5 hits allowed and only allowed 1 earned run in wins vs. Hamburg (NY) and James Clemens. 

Carson Eubanks (2019, OF, Hokes Bluff) The senior OF remarkably reached base in 19 straight plate appearances for #1 Hokes Bluff as they went 5-0 on the week. He was 10-13 on the week and scored 11 runs. 

Rhett Lemay (2019, RHP, Priceville) Lemay threw 5 2/3 innings for the week with 11 K's. He was 1-0 for the week and only allowed 1 hit.

Teammates Michael Strickland (2019, OF, Bob Jones), Dylan Ray (2020, OF/3B/RHP, Bob Jones) and John Michael Riley (2019, C/OF/RHP, Bob Jones) all put up absurd offensive numbers for the Patriots. Strickland was 5-8 on the week with 4 HR's, including 3 bombs in one game vs Fishers, IN. He also had 11 RBI's. Ray, an Alabama commit, was 8-11 on the week with 3 HR, 7 RBI and scored 6 runs. He also went 3 innings on the mound with 4 K's and only allowed 1 hit. Riley was 9-15 on the week with 1 HR, 2 2B, and 4 RBI's. He also went 6 2/3 innings on the mound with 8 K's and allowed 3 hits. 

A pair of Hazel Green teammates also dot our list this week. Jordan Beck (2019, OF/RHP, Hazel Green) and Hunter McGriff (2019, RHP/2B, Hazel Green) had impressive weekends for the Trojans as area play started. Beck, a Tennessee signee, was 16-23 at the plate with 2 HR's, 12 RBI's and scored 14 runs. McGriff, a Shelton State signee, was 1-0 on the mound with a complete game no hitter and 16 K's. He was also 15-24 at the plate with 16 RBI's with 1 HR and 1 3B. 

Continuing the teammate trend, a trio of Smiths Station Panthers make a return to our weekly list. Zane Faulk (2020, C/OF, Smiths Station), Hunter Donaldson (2020, SS/2B, Smiths Station) and Trent Hodgdon (2021, RHP, Smiths Station) are key components for the Panthers. Faulk was 6-9 on the week with 2 HR's, 1 2B, 1 3B, 9 RBI's and 3 BB. Donaldson, a University of South Alabama commit, was 6-13 during the week with 2 HR's and 6 RBI's. Hodgdon continues to impress on the mound as he threw 5 innings not allowing a run while only giving up 1 hit and striking out 7. 

Will Hudson (2020, 3B/RHP, Arab) had a fantastic week at the plate. The junior was 12-17 and scored 10 runs. He also had 7 RBI's, 2 HR's, 1 2B and 2 stolen bases.

Peyton Wesson (2019, LHP, Fayetteville) The senior LHP continues his dominance on the mound beating Athens Bible this week. He threw a complete game (7 IP) allowing only 3 hits and issuing 1 BB. He did not allow a run while striking out 16. For the year, he has an amazing 106 K's in 49 IP.
