OUTLOOK:
Coach Butch Weaver’s squad looks to replicate the success of their 2018 season as the Generals move into Class 6A Area 16 with Hazel Green, Buckhorn and Jemison. The Generals will field a very young, inexperienced squad in 2019 but a few returnees from 2018 will have have to lead the way. All 4 players were counted on heavily in 2018 and will obviously be counted on to do so again this year. 2019 C/RHP/IF Noah Hill will bring his leadership and competitive nature back to lead the Generals. He will be counted on as a run producer in the everyday lineup. Noah Watkins is a 2020 OF/LHP that returns in 2019 to anchor down the OF and will pitch some big innings for the Generals. He is a fast twitch athlete that tracks balls well in the OF and has a nice setup at the plate. He has an advanced breaking ball on the mound as a LHP. 2021 Jackson West is a versatile big, strong kid (6’4 215 lbs.) with a high ceiling that will play the outfield and 1B when he is not on the mound. 2020 Jonathan Vickers returns to Lee’s lineup as a junior and will show his versatility playing both the infield and outfield. Look for 2022 Xavier O’Neal to play a role at SS/2B for the Generals this year. Lee will do battle in a very tough area this year but look for the Generals to improve as the season moves on into area play.
