Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year, we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season and for the high school coaches who nominated their players for this award.

Continuing from last year, we will also be highlighting other players from across the state in our Alabama Diamond Notes that we will release each Tuesday. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

+ LHP Bryson Goff (Saraland, 2023) delivered one of his better outings of the spring when it mattered most during Game 1 of a pivotal area series. An East Central CC signee, Goff has continued to turn in quality outings for the Spartans over the past few years, and will need to continue to do so once the playoffs begin. Facing Faith Academy, the senior southpaw went 7 IP, H, 0 R, 2 BB, and 13 Ks in a 3-0 victory. He also carried a no-hitter into the 7th before surrendering a hit.
