Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year, we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season and for the high school coaches who nominated their players for this award.

Continuing from last year, we will also be highlighting other players from across the state in our Alabama Diamond Notes that we will release each Tuesday. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

+ OF Coleman Mizell (Hartselle, 2023), the state's top-ranked prospect, put up some video game numbers over the past week playing in a three-game area series and down in the Auburn area against four teams that were all ranked in the Alabama Power 25. The Alabama signee hit right at .500 (11-for-22) for the week and included a total of four doubles, six home runs, 16 runs driven in, and three walks hitting in the four-hole. Of the six home runs that the senior hit over the week, five of those came in a two-day span on Friday and Saturday playing against Auburn, Central-Phenix City, and Enterprise.
