2017 Prospect Review: #21 Tyler Caccatorri

Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

As the calendar turns to December, I want to review the top prospects from the 2017. These players have separated themselves as top prospect, with the potential at some point in their career to become professional prospects, if they are not already.

Scouting Report

Cacciatori is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-hander with a large frame and a thin build. He pitches from a L 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm. He attacks the strike zone with his fastball thrown 82-85 mph. He has command of a Frisbee slider with late break thrown 70-73 mph. He throws his changeup with fastball arm speed at 72-74 mph. Overall a player with a fast arm and an advanced feel to pitch.

Caccatorri, has been an up and comer for a few years. Last spring he contributed out of the bullpen and spot starts for the 6A State Champions Sheridan Yellow jackets. He showed the advanced pitch ability with his fastball command and an advanced slider.

After the state championship he moved into his summer schedule with the Arkansas Prospects. He anchored that teams pitching staff throughout the summer as they competed throughout the south. His success this summer led to an offer and commitment from the University of Arkansas.

Overall Caccatorri is a large framed athlete that pitches from a unique arm slot, with fast arm speed. As he continues to add strength he will throw harder. His advancement in arm strength will determine if he is a professional prospect out of high school, or if he will need more time in college.
