The Arkansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 3, opening day for regular season action under AAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Arkansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK

No. of Returning Position Players: 7
No. of Returning Pitchers: 6

Top Returners:

• INF/RHP Connor Whitehead (2025) - 5'10", 190, R/R
  • Returning All-Conference 2B. He will make the move to SS this year and hit in the top of the lineup.
• C/RHP Chad Stewart (2025; ASU-Mountain Home) - 5'11", 180, S/R
  • Chad is a returning 4 year starter behind the plate. He also swings it well from both sides of the plate for both power and contact.
• OF/LHP Chase Perkins (2026) - 5'11", 185, L/L
  • Patrols CF with the best of them in the state. He has added some power over the past year to his swing.
• RHP/INF Hunter Riggs (2026) - 6'3", 196, R/R
  • Started early in the year but an injury cut his sophomore season short. He will be the ace of the staff this year and get the ball in our big games.
• UTL/RHP Camden LaCotts (2026) - 6'0", 175, R/R
  • Saw some relief appearances last year down the stretch. He will move to a starting role this year on the mound and look to have several innings in time for the post season.
• OF/INF Easton Dickson (2027) - 6'2", 161, L/L
  • Played spot time in the OF and at the DH position last year. Looks to have a bigger role this year in both spots.
• OF Grant Glintborg (2027) - 6'0", 155, R/R
  • Grant came on late last year during our post season run and stepped up with big outs and big swings when needed.

Top Newcomers:

• INF Jake Riggs (2028)

Key Players Lost:

• Kason Newsom (Crowley's Ridge)
• Ryan Wrinkles (ASU Mid-South)
• Blake Brothers (Crowley's Ridge)
• Trent Middleton (ASU Mid-South)

Coach’s Insight: “The strength of this years team will be the experience of playing in big games. The offensive production we return will carry us as far as we want to go. We also will look to continue being aggressive on the basepaths and push the envelope when it comes to that aspect of the game. Defensively our strength will be having depth in the outfield that will help us this year when moving kids around to pitch at different times. The weakness of this team will be finding out who is going to be our 3rd and 4th starter to get us through the longer game weeks.” – Aaron Coots, head coach
