Prep Baseball Report Arkansas has been all over the State the past few months scouting and covering games bringing you the most comprehensive High School baseball coverage.  Today we take a look at the teams in 4A with looks at their record, district record, and outlook heading out into the postseason.  Follow us on twitter @PBR_Arkansas as we cover games throughout the next two weeks until the final dog pile of the season.

monticello vs robinson

monticello record: 20-13 robinson record: 20-10

MATCHUP:

Monticello is one of the hottest teams in the tournament and has ridden some walk offs to make their run. Robinson played a marathon semifinal game but don't be confused as they have played well the back half of the season and are a tough team to beat. Wouldn't surprise if we have another extra inning affair between these two well coached teams in round 1.

star city vs harrison

star city record: 20-7 Harrison record: 18-12

MATCHUP:

Great matchup between to hot teams coming into the tournament. Star City has knocked off big opponents including Nashville who has been a staple in the state championship game.  Harrison is peaking at the right time with an older team. This matchup could see some offense and don't be surprised to see one of these teams playing on Saturday for a shot at the 4A state title.

fountain lake vs shiloh christian

fountain lake RECORD: 17-8 shiloh christian RECORD: 15-12

MATCHUP:

Shiloh isn't new to the state tournament and understands what it takes to get to the title game. With Anderson on the mound they have a chance to beat anyone in the state. Fountain Lake comes in after winning several close games to get to the tournament so they are prepared for a tight game and have proven to be on the right side of those close games. This matchup should provide a close game that comes down to the wire.

farmington vs valley view

farmington RECORD: 18-9-1 valley view record: 26-6

MATCHUP:

Farmington has bats and can put up some serious runs and has a veteran team that will not be overwhelmed by the state tournament. Valley View looks to respond after getting knocked off in regional tournament. Still a team to beat, Valley View will have a tough test in round 1 with the Cardinals.

1 seeds:

Pulaski Academy:

Play the winner of Star City and Harrison. One of the hottest teams with deep pitching and poised to make a title run as they will use Kel Busby to try and get them to the semifinal game. Solid club with depth sets them up to be a legit contender for a state championship showdown next week:

Lonoke:

Play the winner of Shiloh and Fountain Lake. After knocking off Valley View and winning the East 1 seed, the Jackrabbits have everything they need to win the title. A young group that has plenty of talent the Jackrabbits are looking to make their mark in the 4A conference. Matchups could put them in Saturday's rematch with Valley View. 

Arkadelphia:

Play the winner of Valley View vs Farmington. Wire to wire team that has proven they are one of the top teams in the 4A. Arkadelphia is rolling and will have a difficult matchup to get to the championship game but not much has gotten in their way this season so don't be surprised to see the badgers playing for a title next week.

Huntsville:

Play the winner of Robinson vs Monticello. One of the top teams in the state the Eagles have a veteran bunch that can hit and pitch. No surprise to see them in the state tournament and wouldnt be surprised to see them in the championship game. Battle tested team that has played more 6A teams and matched up well they will not be shocked by the pressure of the tournament.
