Natural State Games: Roster Preview Team Black

Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

The Natural State Games are this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be hosted at Lamar Porter Field in Little Rock, AR and Sunday will be at the University of Central Arkansas, in Conway. The Black team will play 1:45 PM on Saturday and will compete at 9:00 and 1:30 on Sunday. Let us take a look, the roster for Team Black.

2018’s

Pate Fullerton; He is an advanced defender who will be making his third appearance in this event. The left-hander hitter has solidified himself as one of the top prospects in 2018 class. He has a line drive swing with ability to hit the ball to all fields. Defensively he plays through baseball with fluid footwork, he uses a quick exchange and an accurate arm. Fullerton is committed to Jefferson College.

Kade Stuart; A two way player with advanced arm strength. On the mound he works with a mid-80’s fastball and a solid breaking ball. Offensively he attacks the baseball with fast bat speed and has shown the ability to hit for power to pull side. Defensively he plays through the baseball with solid footwork and an accurate arm. He is committed to Ouachita Baptist University

2019’s

This group will garner a lot of my attention as it is littered with several players who have created a buzz with their performances on the field this summer. RHP Will McEntire is a large framed right-hander who was dominant for the Bryant Blacksox on their way to the American Legion World Series. OF Grant Jeffers had a solid summer for the Arkansas Prospects culminating with a successful trip to Battle of the Borders. Tyler O’Dell was a sophomore who was interesting with advanced athletics. It will be great to see who has made a jump and will begin to move themselves up in the class.

2020’s

Hayden Seldomridge is a player I am looking forward to getting an evaluation on more than game play. Seldomridge impressed this summer handling the advanced arms that Perfect Timing Blue ran out. He showed an advanced feel to catch. Offensively he used a compact swing that allowed him to hit the ball to all field.  Brayden Sites is also an advanced athlete with the ability play all over the field. He stands out with how hard he plays the game, so he generally stands out on effort alone.
