Brian Walker and Scott Hood
Arkansas Staff

As we're getting closer to wrapping up our spring season, we take an updated look at the 2025 class rankings with notes on the Top 10 players in the class.  It's no secret that the Razorbacks have had a strong showing in their recruitment of the top players in the class, landing 8 out of the top 10, but there are still plenty of more prospects that should have a busy recruiting cycle come August 1st with the recent rule changes.

Landon Schaefer SS / RHP / Fayetteville, AR / 2025

Schaefer remains atop the rankings in the State and as one of the top players in the country after a strong spring for Fayetteville.  The Razorback's commit has one of the sweeter swings from the right side of the plate with excellent bat speed and feel for the barrel.  He also added a no-hitter on the mound this past weekend in the playoffs showing his ability to rise to the occasion.

Mark Brissey RHP / 3B / Batesville, AR / 2025

Brissey checks in at number 2 on the list as one of the premium power arms in the country for the 2025 class.  Brissey has shown the ability to work the ball in the mid to low 90's already and missed bats at a high rate this past spring.  Standing at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, the Arkansas commit has the type of starter's build that shows even more projection to match his already high level of productivity at the varsity level.

Jaison DeLamar OF / RHP / Fayetteville, AR / 2025

Delamar checks in at number 3 as having one of the highest ceilings in the class with upside on both sides of the ball.  The Razorback commit had his coming out party last summer at the Future Games showing some of the best tools and potential as both a power bat and power arm in the future.  With Delamar's tools and physicality at a young age, Delamar will continue to be must-watch in the future and will continue to be a fun follow.

Grant Wren RHP / OF / Melbourne , AR / 2025

The Arkansas commit has already shown the ability to work the fastball in the low to mid 90's and continues to be one of the more projectable arms in the class.  With his wiry and athletic build, Wren generates a ton of hand speed with an up-tempo delivery that should continue to see more jumps in velocity as well as the makings of a future wipeout slider.

McClane Moody 3B / Northside , AR / 2025

Moody checks in at number 5 in this update as another potential power arm from the Natural State.  Moody stands at 6-foot-6 and a lean 180 pounds and is already working the fastball in the low 90's.  The Arkansas commit has more room to grow and add strength and it would not be shocking to see him continue to see more velocity jumps in the future.

Russ Martin RHP / OF / Rose Bud , AR / 2025

Martin lands at number 6 on the rankings as a low 90's right-hander with feel for shaping two breaking balls.  Martin has excellent spin on both a slider and curveball in the mid 70's as well as feel for a fading changeup.  Martin has excellent hand speed with strong lower half drive with excellent balance over the rubber.

Peyton Lee RHP / OF / Maumelle , AR / 2025

Lee ranks number 7 on the updated list as another projectable Razorback commit from the 2025 class.  Lee generates a lot of arm side running action on the fastball to get off the barrel from his over the top arm slot.  Lee will continue to be one to keep an eye on in the future as he continues to add strength to his lean frame.

Luke Cornelison SS / 3B / Har-Ber, AR / 2025

Cornelison ranks as the number 8 overall prospect in the class as one of the more physical bats in the area.  Cornelison has some serious strength at contact with a level bat path that projects for above average gap power and more in the future as he continues to add strength.  Cornelison has excellent balance at the plate with a feel for the barrel that landed him a commitment to the University of Arkansas.

Ridge Southerland RHP / 1B / Bryant, AR / 2025

The Oklahoma commit lands at number 9 on the updated list as another potential power arm from the Natural State.  Southerland has present strength in his 6-foot-3 and 205-pound frame that works the fastball into the low 90's and shows enough hand speed for a potential high end slider.  Southerland will continue to be a prospect to keep an eye on as he has proven to make large jumps in the past.

Landon Carter SS / 2B / North Little Rock, AR / 2025

Carter checks in at the number 10 spot in the rankings as one of the more projectable position players in the class.  Carter has a nice combination of speed and power with an elegance in the field.  He has shown his strength at contact with exit velocities up to 99 mph and with his athleticism, should be one to follow throughout the summer.
