By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

School is bearing down on players as summer ends, recruiting is getting kicked off for several 2018 graduates as college coaches have spent the summer on the road evaluating talent and their current rosters movement. Here is a look at some unsigned seniors that I expect to have recruiting movement over the next few weeks.

Bryce Dodd SS / RHP / Clinton, AR / 2018

Dodd is a 5-foot-10 155-pound athlete with an athletic frame and thin build. He stands out athletically as he runs a 6.37 in the 60. Offensively he starts from a tall stance with a minimum load stride combination. He takes a long stride and attacks the baseball with a line drive swing with fast bat speed. Defensively he shows the ability to play either outfield or infield. He has a strong arm where he throws the baseball 85 mph across the infield and 86 mph from the outfield. He plays through the baseball with normal action and uses a normal exchange and smooth foot work. Overall Dodd is an advanced athlete that will improve as his overall strength and size improves.

Braydon Todd RHP / OF / Arkadelphia, AR / 2018

Todd is a 6-foot-1 175-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and build.  He pitches from a ¾ arm slot with a short quick arm action. His simple tilt and topple delivery is repeated consistently. He finishes athletically square to the plate. He commands two pitches consistently. His fastball works 86-88 mph with slight sink. He compliments his fastball with a slider thrown 75-78 with late 10/4 break. Overall Todd is an advanced athlete with a quick arm and a feel for a breaking ball.

Mac McCroskey SS / 2B / Har-Ber, AR / 2018

McCroskey is a 5-foot-11 155-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and a thin build. He is an advanced defender at short stop with advanced actions, and footwork as he plays through the baseball. He throws the baseball accurately at 80 mph across the infield. Offensively he starts from a tall and slightly open stance, he dives back into the plate. He gets his lower half inline, as he attacks the baseball with a line drive swing that produces exit velocities up to 89 mph. Overall McCroskey is an advanced defender with a solid offensive game.

Parker Gavazzi OF / Conway, AR / 2018

Gavazzi is a 5-foot-9 150-pound outfielder with a medium frame and a thin build. He is an above average runner that runs a 6.71 in the 60. Defensively he shows good instincts with the ability run balls down in either gap from centerfield. He plays through the baseball and throws the ball 79 mph from the outfield. Offensively he starts from a tall stance with a minimum load. He drops his hands and pushes the bat through the zone on a line drive swing plane with average bat speed. He produced exit velocities up to 75 mph. Overall Gavazzi is a solid defender with good athleticism.

Ollie Reddick OF / White Hall, AR / 2018

Reddick is a 5-foot-10 170-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and physical build. He runs a 6.93 in the 60. He shows advanced arm strength from the outfield throwing the baseball 88 mph. He plays through the baseball with fluid foot work and shows solid instincts on balls off the bat. Offensively he starts with an open stance and dives back into the plate. He attacks the baseball with normal bat speed and an uphill swing. Overall Reddick is a good athlete with a rawness to his game, as he continues to play his athleticism should allow him to continue to improve.
