Ty Tanksley RHP / SS / Carlisle, AR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 1 / POS: 1
Taking the top spot in our inaugural 2028 rankings is two-way standout Ty Tanksley. At 6-foot 175-pounds Tanksley is well ahead of most of his peers physically as well as showing advanced actions on both sides of the ball. At the plate the righty has shown an advanced feel for the barrel with gap to gap power and a mature approach that can handle high end arms. The tools don’t stop there, with a mid-to-upper-80s fastball on the mound and true curveball/slider mix that he can command in any count, Tanksley has the look of a must see prospect in the Natural State.

Brooks Robinson RHP / 1B / Greene County Tech, AR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 2
Another two-way athlete, it is on the mound where Robinson shines the brightest and was a standout for Team Arkansas this past summer at the Junior Future Games in Georgia. Packed with projection in a lean, 6-foot-1, 174-pound frame, Robinson shows the ability to repeat an effortless delivery and command the zone with a mid-to-upper-80s fastball with sink. It is Robinson’s advanced feel to land both a swing and miss slider and changeup in any count that makes him an arm to watch in the class.

Jayden Stegner C / 3B / Homeschool (AR), AR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 1
The top backstop on our list, Stegner is packed with physicality and raw strength in a 6-foot, 210-pound frame. That strength is evident at the plate where he consistently barrels balls with authority to the pullside, showing as much juice and bat speed as any right-handed hitter in the class. A exciting athlete to folllow, don’t be surprised if Stegner continues to move even farther up our list as he continues to prove he can produce at the highest levels.

Will Schaefer OF / LHP / Fayetteville, AR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
Coming in at No. 4 on our release is a high-level gamer with impressive feel for the game and high-end baseball IQ. Schaefer possesses advanced bat to ball skills from the left side of the plate with clean, reliable actions in the outfield. With plenty more to come with the addition of size and strength, Schaefer will be a name to keep an eye on. |

Reid Mitchell SS / C / Little Rock Christian, AR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 1
Rounding out our top five, Mitchell was a standout for Team Arkansas at the Junior Future Games in 2023 and continues to show growth in his game, consistently producing at the plate with a quick, level swing that works back through the middle of the field. With plenty of room to continue to fill out his 5-foot-10, 171-pound frame, Mitchell has the makings to be an impact bat in the freshman class. |
