2026 Rankings Release

Shea Sbranti
Arizona Scouting Director

The Arizona Prep Baseball Report staff is excited to release the first set of rankings for the 2026 class! While it is very early in the process, our initial release is the top 10 2026 players identified over this past Fall season.

As always the ranking process is a fluid and ongoing process, in which players are evaluated on multiple occasions, whether it be at an event or on the playing field at a local tournament. All players on this Top-10 list are well deserving and have a bright future ahead. We look forward to evaluating the young talent in the 2026 class and growing our list throughout the 2023 season.

Full 2026 Top 10

Ryan Harwood 1B / OF / Casteel, AZ / 2026

Coming in at #1 is Ryan Harwood. The 6-foot-3 210 pound Harwood, had a monster fall showing a mature build and lightning bat speed at the plate. Harwood was a participant on the gold medal USA 15U team this past summer, where in 7 games he batted .417 with 4 RBI’s. On the mound for team USA, Harwood worked out of the pen with 4.1 in pitched and a 0.0 ERA 9Ks while getting the save in the title game to bring home the gold for team USA. We are very excited to give Harwood the #1 ranking in the state and look forward to seeing him this spring on a loaded Casteel Team.

Ethan Trahan OF / LHP / Horizon, AZ / 2026

The recent Arizona State commit Ethan Trahan was one of the most intriguing participants at this past summer’s Junior Future Games. He turned in a very eye opening workout on both sides of the ball, and showed that his skills translate to game play. Trahan touched 83 from the outfield during the workout, with a very easy and clean arm action with accurate throws. Velo will continue to rise with added strength and maturity. He took a mature round of batting practice, with a flat bat path that whistles through the zone. His balance at the plate and ability to let balls travel and utilize various contact points is impressive for the age. He left the yard multiple times to the pull side. In the playoffs of JFG’s, Trahan came into the game showing it off on the mound with a FB sitting 87mph from the left side. Trahan has proved himself to be one of top 10 prospects in a loaded 2026 class and we look forward to seeing him compete in his first High School season at Horizon.

Carter Macanas SS / 3B / Desert Ridge, AZ / 2026

Another stand out performer at this past summer’s Junior future games is Connor Macanas. The MIF is the definition of a hard nosed baseball player. He may not be the biggest on the field yet but don’t let his size fool you. With advanced tools to all parts of his game. In the 2026 class, Macanas should be listed with the top SS's across the country with his defensive ability. His feet and glove are very advanced. Active and quick feet, smooth glove and body, and lightning quick transfer, and an accurate and easy arm. At the plate Macanas has a smooth flat swing that produces a high level contact tool. With added size and strength we look forward to seeing Macanas taking it to the next level.
