5 to Know: Power Potential

Brett Thorney
State Scouting Director

As many people know, Prep Baseball Report recently hosted its premier, PBR Future Games. The Future Games is an event that features some of the best uncommitted juniors & select sophomores in the country. Many players in each state work hard all year long for a chance to get invited to this select event, located at the LakePoint Sports Complex, widely considered as the best venue in the country for amateur baseball. This year, Team Arizona brought 19 players that were all looking to show off their skills to the rest of the nation, PBR scouting staff and college coaches from around the country. Coaches were able to see these players live on stream through Playsight. Team Arizona finished the weekend undefeated with several players standing out throughout competition.

Year after year scouts search the grad classes for bats with potential to be key contributors at the next level. There were several power potential bats in Arizona throughout our coverage this summer that we considered for the PBR Future Games had there been additional roster spots. Unfortunately, we would have loved to bring as many players as possible but there is only so much room on a roster. Today, we will be highlighting some of the top power potential bats that were in conversation for Team Arizona:
