Welcome to the Arizona Daily Roundup. 

Baseball season is finally here. As of Wednesday, February 26th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

2020 Griffen Chewning (Notre Dame Prep)- South Mountain CC commit, went 3 for 3 with a loud solo HR to LF. He scored two runs and had an RBI in NDP's 3-0 win vs Nogales.

2020 Connor Markl (Notre Dame Prep)- Grand Canyon commit, started on the mound and went 4 1/3 for NDP. Struck-out 5 batters on the day while surrendering two walks, allowing zero hits or runs. 

Liberty HS, Pitching Staff- RHP Kaden Schiefelbein (2021), LHP Tyler Bribiescas (2020), & RHP Tommy Oughton (2022) combine for a one hit shutout vs Bradshaw Mountain. They struck-out 16 batters in the process while walking two batters. Schiefelbein had 6 K's, while Bribiescas had 8K's. 

Corona Del Sol, Offense- Five players with multi hit games in CDS victory over No. 11 Brophy College Prep. The offensive attack is led by senior GCU commit, Cade Verdusco & Arizona State commit, Hunter Haas. CDS also has some strong juniors throughout the lineup in Quade Swearingen, Zach Kress, & Marcus Harrison who all had multiple hits. 

2021 C Tanner Smith (Basha)- Oregon State commit, went 2 for 3 with a HR, two runs scored & RBI in Basha's victory over Highland. 2020 1B Noah Rodriguez also went deep in the game. 

2020 1B/RHP Brock Peery (Mountain Ridge)- Arizona State commit, known for his pitching but had 4 hits out of clean up spot on the day. Peery went 4 for 4 with 4 runs scored & 2 RBI's. Mountain Ridge had 17 Hits in their 19 run victory. 

2021 SS Tanner Rice (Red Mountain)- Texas-Arlington commit, went 3 for 4 with a triple & double, logging a run & 3 RBIS in Red Mountains close win vs Mesquite.
