Baseball season is finally here. As of Wednesday, February 26th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

No. 5 Basha powers there way past No. 4 Red Mountain, literally. 2021 C Tanner Smith, Oregon State commit has been on a tear to start the season. He went 3 for 5 in this game with two big HR's & 6 RBI's, moving his HR total up to 3 on the season already. 2020 SS Bitner Workman, BYU commit & 3B Ryland Zaborowski, GCU Commit also had 3 hits each in the game. Workman showed some power of his own with a double and triple in the contest. 

Casteel edges Sunnyslope 2-3 in nice pitchers matchup. 2020 RHP Tyler Moore, Pacific commit started on the mound in Casteel's 3-2 win over Sunnyslope. Moore gave up two runs on 3 hits over 6 2/3 innings, striking out 9 batters in the process. 2020 RHP Drew Bond, Gonzaga commit started on the Hill for Sunnyslope. Bond surrendered two runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, striking out 6 batters on the day. Casteel put together two singles and two walks to walk-off Sunnyslope in the bottom of the 8th. 

2021 1B Beau Ankeney (Desert Vista), GCU commit hit his first HR of the season to upset No. 19 Mesquite. Ankeney played apart in all of Desert Vista's runs. He went 1-3 with a 2-run HR, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI's. 

Sabino makes a statement against Campo Verde, scoring 13 runs in the shutout victory. 2020 LHP Andrew Calloway, Arizona Western commit threw the CG shutout allowing 1 hit & 2 walks with 11 strikeouts on the day. 2020 RF Morgan Altherr, Colorado-Colorado Springs commit led the offense going 2 for 2 with a HR and a walk with 4 RBI's, & 3 runs scored. 

Valley Christian had 24 hits in a 25-run win. 2021 2B TJ Oster was 5 for 5 with 5 runs. 2021 CF Jake Terry was 5 for 6 with 5 runs & 7 RBI's. 2020 SS Vinnie LaGatta was 4 for 5 with 4 runs & 4 RBI's.
