Welcome to the Arizona Daily Roundup. 

Baseball season is finally here. As of Wednesday, February 26th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

No. 1 Hamilton Pitching blanks No. 8 Liberty2021 LHP Brock Selvidge, LSU commit started the game for Hamilton. Selvidge pitched 5 innings, surrendering 4 hits and striking out 4 batters with allowing a run or walk. 2020 RHP Ryan Figueroa came into throw the last two innings, striking out 4 batters with zeros across the board. 

No. 10 Sandra Day O'Connor takes down No. 3 Mountain Pointe. 2021 RHP Cannon Smith had a solid outing for SDO. Smith threw 5 innings, surrendering 2 runs on 3 hits and a walk while striking out 3 batters. Mountain Pointe got 5 hits on the day, 2 of them being HRS. 2021 C Cade Westerlund 2020 CF Ethan Long, ASU commit both had their first home runs of the year. 

Unranked Apollo upsets No.14 Casteel. Apollo collected 9 hits in the game. 2020 C Oliver Perigrina, 2021 LF Luis Parra, & 2023 3B Richie Gonzales all recorded multiple hits in the game. Perigrina scored 3 runs & Parra scored two. 

Big 7-run 5th inning leads No. 21 Canyon Del Oro past No. 25 Cienega. 2021 RHP Dante Schindler was dealing on the mound for CDO. Schindler went the CG allowing 2 runs on 2 hits & 2 walks. He struckout a high 13 batters on the day. 2020 CF Cory Bonstrom2021 1B Jayden Bracy2021 RF Marcus Delgado has multiple hits. Bracy hit two doubles in the game. Bonstrom & Delgado had two hits and 3 RBIs each.
