Welcome to the Arizona Daily Roundup. 

Baseball season is finally here. As of Wednesday, February 26th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

No.1 Hamilton holds on the beat No. 20 Mountain view after late rally. 2020 C/1B Tyler Wilson was locked in at the plate for Hamilton. Wilson was 3 for 3 with a big HR, scoring 2 runs with 2 RBis. He also walked twice. Leadoff man, 2020 SS Isaiah Adams also had two doubles in the game. For Mountain View, 2022 2B Ezra McNaughton & 2021 C Jeramy Krause did their best to lead the comeback with multiples hits a doubles. 

Mesquite knocks off No. 4 Basha. Mesquite has had one of the toughest schedules in the state to start the 2020 season. Scoring 7 runs early, they held on to win with late push from Basha. 2021 RHP Levi Morrison got the CG win on the mound. 2022 SS Thomas Vogiatzis went 2 for 3 scoring a run. 2020 3B Andrick Jones, Coe College commit went 2 for 4 with a triple, 2 runs and 3 RBIs. For Basha, 2021 RHP Cayden Musgrove came in relief, throwing 41/3 scoreless innings. Musgrove struckout 5 batters while surrendering 3 hits and a walk. Workman and Zaborowski did their best to lead the comeback, both hit HRs in the game with multiple extra base hits. 

No. 12 Desert Mountain scores 3 runs in top of the 7th to take down No. 6 Red Mountain. Back and forth game. DM offense prevails in the end. 2021 SS Wes Kath, Arizona State commit hit three doubles in the game, driving in 3 runs. 2020 1B Connor Elwell also collected three hits with a double and 2 runs scored in the game.

Queen Creek scores 3 runs in top of the 1st and holds on to beat No. 17 Perry. Queen Creek who will most likely be making a jump into the rankings Monday, stays undefeated. Pitching staff allowed two hits all day. 2020 LHP Anthony Imhoff goes 4 1/3 on the mound for QC, allowing a run on one hit and 3 walks. Struck-out 4 batters on the day. Three different pitchers came in relief combining to allow one hit and one run.
