Welcome to the Arizona Daily Roundup. 

Baseball season is finally here. As of Friday, March 12th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

Horizon sneaks by Cactus shadows with walk off homerun

Horizon found themselves down 9-0 after 2.5 innings before putting together back to back 5-run frames. The game was tied at 10 after 4 innings and then again going into the bottom of the 7th. Senior, Austin Corbett hit two doubles and scored two runs for the Huskies. Junior, Dominic Chacon had 3 hits scoring two runs while driving in two others himself. Senior, Dayton Francis hit a big a 3-run HR in the 3rd inning to get the offense going. Cactus Shadows had 12 hits on the day themselves with 3 hit games from Landen Argabright & Derek Schaefer. Alex Demos & Mason Speciale also had multi-hit games. Demos & Schaefer had HR's of their own in the game. The lone winning run came in the 7th off the bat of 2022 Jace Behnke of Horizon for the walkoff homerun. 

Millennium takes down Shadow Ridge

On Monday, Henry Brauckmiller and the Millennium Tigers were able to take down Shadow Ridge in the low scoring affair. Brauckmiller who moved to AZ from OR before the season got the start on the mound. He went the complete game, allowing a single unearned run on a lone hit & 3 walks. He struck out 8 batters on the day. Shadow Ridge's Treyton Tarver got the start on the other side and pitched a solid game himself. Tarver allowed a single earned run in the game on 5 hits and a walk. He struck out 7 batters of his own. Senior, Damon Reese provided most of the offense in the game, hitting two double with 2RBIs including the double to put the Tigers up by 1 in the 6th inning. Millennium wins 3-1.
