Baseball season is finally here. As of Friday, March 12th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

MOUNTAIN RIDGE TAKES PITCHERS DUEL

Mountain Ridge squared off against Chaparral on Monday night in a pitchers duel. Senior, LHP Gray Bailey (UT-Arlington commit) has thrown well all year and he continued that trend. Bailey threw the complete game for the Mountain Lions while only allowing a single earned run in 7 innings. He struckout 10 batters while allowing 6 hits & a lone walk. On the other side, 2022 RHP Hayden Lewis (Arizona commit) got the start for the Firebirds, throwing 5 strong innings. He surrendered 2 earned runs on 4 hits & 2 walks while striking out 8 batters. 2023 INF Cooper Neville hit a 2-run HR in the 3rd inning to give the Mountain Lions a 2-1 lead. They finished the game, winning 3-1. 

CHANDLER HOLDS ON TO BEAT BASHA

Chandler had the bats rolling early on Monday, scoring 7 runs in the first 3 innings of the game. Junior, OF Tate Scott had a HR for the Wolves in his 2 for 4 day at the plate with 2 runs & 2 RBIs. Basha did their best to get back in the game and had some momentum going in the 7th inning. 2021 C Tanner Smith (Oregon State commit) & 2023 SS Drew Douglas had back to back HR's but were held at 6-runs by the Wolves pitching staff. Chandler came out with the 7-6 victory. 

OTHER PERFORMANCES:

2021 C Ryan Campos (Arizona commit)- 3 for 4 at the plate in Red Mountains 7-0 win versus Dobson Campos had two HRs & a double with 2Rs & 2RBIs. Senior, 1B Justin Powell was also 2 for 2 at the plate with a HR & 3B with 3Rs & 4RBIs.

2022 OF Kolby Felix- 2 for 2 in Liberty's 9-1 win versus Sunrise Mountain. Felix had a triple & double in the game with two walks. He scored 2 runs and had an RBI. 2021 RHP Kaden Schiefelbein (Washington State commit) threw 6 innings while not allowing a single earned run. He struck out 8 batters while giving up 3 hits & 3 walks. 

2023 1B Cole Carlon- 2 for 4 in Corona Del Sol's 12-4 victory versus Desert Vista. Carlon had a HR & 2B in the game with a run and 4 RBIs. 2022 OF Ayden Crouse had 3 hits in the game himself with a double. 

2022 LHP Mario Bejarano (Central AZ commit)- started on the mound Tucson's extra innings win versus Cibola. Bejarano threw 7 innings, allowing an ER on 1 hit & 2 walks. He struck out 10 batters in the game. 2022 OF Ruben Villaescusa hit two doubles in 3 for 4 day. 

2022 OF KB Bell- 2 for 2 from the leadoff spot in Mesquites 15-0 win versus Marcos de Niza. He had a HR in the game with 2 runs & 5 RBIs.

Plenty of hits for Millennium in their 19-9 win versus Verrado. 2022 OF Kaleb Duncan (UNLV commit) & 2021 OF Connor Hill (Point Loma commit) had 3 hits each in the win. Hill hit two doubles. 2022 Henry Brauckmiller hit a HR with 2 hits in the game. 

2023 SS Tyler Acton was 2 for 4 with a triple & double in Verrado's loss. He scored a run while batting 2 runs in. Mount
