Perry Pumas notch victory vs Brophy

Perry is a team that can really beat any team on any given day. They proved that once again on Tuesday coming out with the victory against Brophy College Prep. They have one of the toughest schedules out there and if they can start to click a little more consistently, look for the Pumas to get some more big wins. On Tuesday, their ace in 2021 LHP Justin Still (New Mexico recruit) started on the mound and allowed 1 run over 6 innings, allowing 1 hit in the game. 2022 CF Luke Hinze went 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI. 2021 C Carter Richey (South Mountain recruit) also had two hits, one being an RBI double. On Brophy's side, there wasn't much offense other than 2023 Zach Wadas' solo HR in the top of the 2nd inning.

Salpointe wins 1-run game vs Tucson

Salpointe's 2021 RHP Liam O'Brien (Pima recruit) & 2022 LHP Mario Bejarano (Central AZ commit) were set to square off the mound that turned into a pitchers duel. Both pitchers went 6 innings before turning the ball over. Both pitchers surrendered 3 hits & 2 walks in the contest. O'Brien struck out 9 batters while Bejarano struck out 12. The difference was the lone run in the bottom of the 4th inning on single by 2022 SS Mason White to score Jack Rogers. 2021 RHP Cade McGee struck out the side in the 7th to close out the win for Salpointe, 1-0.

Mogen throws a Perfect Game

Centennial's 2023 RHP Cristian Mogen had quite the game Tuesday night. He started on the mound for the Coyotes and didn't allow a single base runner all night. Perfect Games are one of the rarest accomplishments in the sport & Mogen was able to get it done in a full 7-inning game. Mogen struckout 14 of the 21 batters he faced. He also had a three hit day at the plate with a double and 3 runs scored.
